Abstract: Approaches for setting file attributes in a distributed file system using a multipart file structure are described. A request to set attributes for one or more parts of a multipart file is received. In response to the request, a rectify indicator is set to indicate the attributes for the multipart file that are to be set. In response to the request, an entry corresponding to the request is created in a rectify database. The attributes for the one or more parts of the multipart files are set using at least the entry in the rectify database.

Abstract: Approaches and mechanisms for cloning a file are described. A first node requests a clone of a file at a time when it also requests an exclusive delegation of the original file from a second node where the original file is stored. The second node marks the original file as delegated to the first node and the second node records an intent to create the clone file and a delegation record for the clone file. The second node creates the clone file. The delegation of and the identity of the clone file are returned to the first node. The first node marks in the delegation record that the clone file was committed in response to modification. If the clone file was committed the delegation is cleared and the clone file is kept, and if the clone file was not committed, the delegation is cleared, and the clone file is deleted.

Abstract: A logging management server is provided for enhanced centralized monitoring of cloud computing platforms. The processor is configured to receive logging data sub-streams from the cloud computing platform. Each of the logging data sub-streams includes compressed logging data. The processor is also configured to apply a transformation function to each of the logging data sub-streams to obtain a transformed centralized logging data stream. The processor is further configured to transmit the transformed centralized logging data stream to write to a centralized object storage container. The processor is also configured to decompress a portion of the compressed logging data of the centralized logging data stream. The processor is further configured to identify the appended account identifier and the appended log group associated with the decompressed portion of logging data. The processor is also configured to route the decompressed portion of logging data to a sorted object storage container.

Abstract: A data management system may maintain a total-size counter for the file system. The total-size counter represents a sum of data size related to snapshots backed up to the file system. The data management system may perform data operation cycles to the file system. Each data operation cycle corresponds to a snapshot that includes files. Each data operation cycle may include incrementing the total-size counter by the data size of the files in the snapshot exchanged with the file system and adding, to a snapshot record, the amount of increment in incrementing the total-size counter as an increment-size counter. A data management system may perform a correction operation to correct the total-size counter. The correction operation may change the total-size counter by a difference between the total of the increment-size counters in the snapshot records and the total data size of file data exchanged with the file system.

The data backup method includes: determining a data set to be backed up, performing a status update operation on a data block in the data set, determining the time points when the data block changes from the first phase to the second phase, and when the data block changes from the second phase to the third phase, and performing data backup on the data set to generate backup files. With this method, upon data seal time point, no fresh data can be reached in any data block, and the data block back-up persists, so that the time point of the data backup operation is more accurate, the cut point of which deleted data should be included in the back up is easy to locate, and the deleted data may be accurately processed.
