摘要: A peripheral nerve stimulator to stimulate a peripheral nerve to treat essential tremor and other movement disorders, as well as overactive bladder, cardiac dysfunction and neurotransmitter dysfunction is provided. The peripheral nerve stimulator can be a noninvasive surface stimulator to provide multi-modal optimized therapy. Stimulation can be vibrational, electromechanical, thermal, radiant, electrical, magnetic, electromagnetic, light, mechanical, chemical, thermal, ultrasonic, radiofrequency (RF), acoustic, infrared, ultraviolet, x-ray, and/or microwave. Stimulation can be delivered using an open loop system and/or a closed loop system with feedback. Stimulation can be to one site or multiple sites.

摘要: Methods and apparatus are provided for renal neuromodulation using a pulsed electric field to effectuate electroporation or electrofusion. It is expected that renal neuromodulation (e.g., denervation) may, among other things, reduce expansion of an acute myocardial infarction, reduce or prevent the onset of morphological changes that are affiliated with congestive heart failure, and/or be efficacious in the treatment of end stage renal disease. Embodiments of the present invention are configured for percutaneous intravascular delivery of pulsed electric fields to achieve such neuromodulation.

摘要: Disclosed is a method for treating dermis and hypodermis by placing at least a first electrode at the surface of a to-be-treated skin region and contacting a second electrode at another position on the body to be treated then applying between the electrodes a current with pulse component, said current being sufficient to produce electro-osmotic pressure/velocity wavefronts corresponding to the fundamental frequency in blood vessels in the dermis and hypodermis of the skin region.

摘要: A non-invasive method and device for treating gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in a patient are disclosed. The method calls for positioning electrodes, and applying electrical symmetrical bursts. In particular, positioning step requires positioning a plurality of electrodes in electrical contact with the skin of a target region of the abdomen of the patient. The application step calls for applying a series of electrical symmetrical bursts to said electrodes. That application step generates contractions of abdominal muscles thereby generating movements of a digestive system of said patient wherein said movements are for causing the content of the esophagus to return to the stomach and to relieve GERD symptoms of said patient.

摘要: A system and method for improving limb function through the use of percutaneous mechanical and neural interfaces. The system generally uses a hollow long bone axial rod that is inserted into the long bone medullary cavity. A transfer rod with a central channel is mounted to the long bone axial rod. An exterior body attachment is connected to the transfer rod and attachment rings attach muscle groups, fascia layers and dermal layers to the transfer rod. Additionally, the system is configured to collect and transmit nerve signaling data to an external processor and additionally configured to transmit data from the external processor to the plurality of nerves.

摘要: A method to treat a patient having a pelvic floor dysfunction or disorder by establishing a neurostimulator having a processor and an electrical signal generator to generate a stimulation signal. The processor is set to one or more parameters effective in the treating of the patient's pelvic disorder or dysfunction when the stimulation signal is applied to a saphenous nerve of the patient. The neurostimulator is configured to provide the stimulation signal to a stimulator in accordance with a stimulation protocol. The stimulator is positioned below or at the level of the patient's knee and next to a portion of the saphenous nerve. The processor is operationally activated to provide the stimulation signal to the stimulator for treatment of the patient.

摘要: A vestibular electronic orthodontic appliance expediter constituted of a lingual sub-member and a buccal sub-member, the lingual sub-member arranged to fit a lingual contour of a gum of a patient, the buccal sub-member arranged to fit a buccal contour of a gum of the patient; a control circuitry; a power supply; a plurality of lingual electrodes, each associated with a particular tooth socket; and a plurality of buccal electrodes, each associated with a particular tooth socket. Either a first or a second type current is generated between lingual and buccal electrodes responsive to the control circuitry. Biochemical molecules involved in bone remodeling, augmented by the electric currents, may be applied to the expediter as a layer of gel containing those molecules on the expediter surface facing the gum tissue. Temperature control enhances the gel effects. pH measurement, as indicators of the cellular response to the combined treatment is further provided.

摘要: There is provided a method for treating a male impotent patient comprising stimulating at least one portion of the patient's normal penile tissue or the prolongation thereof to at least restrict the blood flow leaving the penis to achieve erection. To improve the erection effect the method further comprises gently constricting the penile portion or the prolongation thereof to restrict the venous blood flow in the penile portion, and then stimulating the constricted penile portion to cause contraction of the penile portion to at least further restrict the blood flow leaving the penis to achieve erection.
