摘要: A method of constructing a puncture sequence includes providing a seed puncture sequence including a plurality of elements. The elements of the seed puncture sequence are based upon non-zero elements of a plurality of columns of a parity-check matrix having a column dimension and a row dimension. In this regard, the parity-check matrix defines an error correction code, and has been constructed based upon a seed parity-check matrix derived from an edge ensemble. After providing the seed puncture sequence, a variable node-puncture sequence can be constructed based thereupon. The variable node-puncture sequence, then, corresponds to a puncture sequence configured for processing an error correction code.

摘要: A method and system to improve the performance and/or reliability of a solid-state drive (SSD). In one embodiment of the invention, the SSD has logic to compress a block of data to be stored in the SSD. If it is not possible to compress the block of data below the threshold, the SSD stores the block of data without any compression. If it is possible to compress the block of data below the threshold, the SSD compresses the block of data and stores the compressed data in the SSD. In one embodiment of the invention, the SSD has logic to dynamically adjust or select the strength of the error correcting code of the data that is stored in the SSD. In another embodiment of the invention, the SSD has logic to provide intra-page XOR protection of the data in the page.

摘要: The present disclosure illustrates a decoder for min-sum algorithm low density parity-check code. The decoder is adapted for decoding coding data having bit nodes and check nodes. The decoder includes a calculation module and a memory. The calculation module includes a plurality of calculation units, and the memory includes a plurality of memory units. Each calculation unit includes a check node unit, a first message re-constructor and a second message re-constructor. The calculation module divides the coding data into several data groups, and the data group is calculated by each calculation unit. The check node unit generates a stored-form of a calculating result by calculating the respective data group. The calculating result is reconstructed by the first message re-constructor and summed with the following data group. The memory unit stores the respective calculating result generated from the calculation unit.

摘要: A check node processing unit updates an extrinsic value ratio based on a prior value ratio for each row of a parity check matrix with respect to input data. An identifying unit identifies, based on an element of the parity check matrix that can be identified by a row and column associated with the updated extrinsic value ratio, a next-target element in the same column and in a different row. The identifying unit identifies an element to be updated in the next step by the check node processing unit, from among multiple elements included in the same column. A variable node processing unit updates, based on the extrinsic value ratio, a prior value ratio associated with the identified next-target element after the check node processing unit completes the updating of each row. The check node processing unit and the variable node processing unit alternately and iteratively execute their operations.
