    摘要: A method for balancing a vehicle wheel includes mounting a wheel to be balanced on a rotating shaft of a machine computerized for measuring imbalances, and selecting an optimum commercial balancing weight which, when positioned on a correction plane, minimizes residual imbalance on reference planes of the wheel where the balancing tolerance is considered. One compares the residual imbalance value at the reference planes with the prescribed balancing tolerance after subtracting a vector of the static imbalance generated by the optimum balancing weight. An indicator device is activated to indicate on the wheel the optimum axial position of a correction plane for a balancing weight where the residual imbalance at the reference planes is within tolerance.

    摘要: In a method for cleaning a fastening surface (2) for a balancing element on an inner face (3) of a rim (4) of a vehicle wheel (5), the vehicle wheel (5) is positioned in a holding apparatus (13) such that a cleaning apparatus (9) can be moved, by means of a handling apparatus (6), to the fastening surface (2) on the inner face of the rim (4) of the positioned vehicle wheel (5). The cleaning apparatus (9) is arranged at a free end of the handling apparatus (6). The cleaning apparatus (9) is then moved by the handling apparatus (6) to a wetting device (15) filled with a cleaning agent (11) and is wetted with cleaning agent (11) in the wetting device (15). The cleaning apparatus (9) wetted with cleaning agent (11) is then moved by the handling apparatus (6) into the wheel rim (4), where it is moved such that the cleaning apparatus (9) cleans at least one fastening surface (2) on the inner face (3) of the wheel rim (4).

    摘要: A self-balancing pneumatic tire is provided having a built-in balancing gel system. In one embodiment, the tire, before cure, includes a green pneumatic tire assembly having an uncured tread defining an outermost layer; a first barrier layer; a second barrier layer situated adjacent the first barrier layer and intermediate the first barrier layer and the tread; and first and second gel precursors. The gel precursors are non-flowable prior to cure but flowable after cure. The gel precursors are respectively contained within spaced-apart first and second circumferential regions defined by confronting, non-contacting surfaces of the first barrier layer and the second barrier layer, each circumferential region further situated proximate opposing sidewalls of the tire and having a width of about 5 percent to about 25 percent of a final tread width obtained upon curing of the uncured tire assembly. In one example, the first and/or second barrier layers can be discontinuous.
