摘要: Apparatus and associated methods relate to apparatus for balancing a fan. In an illustrative example, a fan balancing system may include a local device and a remote device. For example, the local device may include a sensing unit and a processing unit. The remote device may, for example, include a user interface and a controller wirelessly coupled to the local device. For example, the controller may receive a user input including a total number of blades of a fan from the user interface. When the fan is activated, a condensed imbalance profile may be received wirelessly from the local device releasably coupled to the fan. In some implementations, the controller may generate a balancing matrix including combinations of weights and positions of the weights along one or more blades of the fan. Various embodiments may advantageously generate a placement combination of weights to re-balance the fan remotely.

摘要: An apparatus for applying weight material onto a wheel may include a conveyor assembly, upper and lower severing-head assemblies, and upper and lower control arms. The severing-head assemblies may be mounted above and below the conveyor assembly and may include a housing, a severing device and a dispensing mechanism. The dispensing mechanism may position the weight material from a source relative to the severing device. The severing device may separate a predetermined amount of weight material from a source. The control arms may be movably mounted above and below the conveyor assembly and have weight-application tools configured to transfer the predetermined amounts of weight material from the severing-head assemblies to locations on the wheel.

摘要: A rotor balancing method for a gas turbine on a balancing machine, includes performing a base run by running the rotor at an intended balance speed and measuring the vibrations at a first pedestal; carrying out partial balancing; performing a first influence run by fitting a first balancing weight to a first correction plane in order to reduce vibrations at the first pedestal; performing a second influence run by fitting a first calibration weight to a second correction plane, running the rotor at the intended balance speed and measuring the vibrations at the first pedestal and the second pedestal, and removing the first calibration weight; and carrying out final balancing of the rotor by fitting a final balancing weight to the first correction plane and a second balancing weight to the second correction plane dependent on vibrations measured as part of the first influence run and the second influence run.

摘要: A rotor assembly comprises a rotor having annular flange including a plurality of protrusions axisymmetrically disposed about the annular flange, each protrusion having a mounting aperture for selectively receiving a balancing feature, and a plurality of slots axisymmetrically disposed about the circumference of the annular flange between adjacent protrusions. Each slot has a pair of converging flat portions extending axially inwardly from an adjacent protrusion end, an inner flat portion at an inner end of each slot, and a pair of curved portions respectively joining each converging flat portion to the inner flat portion in each slot. Each slot has a depth at least as great as an adjacent mounting aperture depth extending normally from the adjacent protrusion end to a far end of the corresponding mounting aperture.

摘要: A tire load estimation system includes at least one tire supporting a vehicle, in which the at least one tire includes a pair of sidewalls extending to a circumferential tread. A sensor is mounted to the at least one tire. A footprint is formed by the tread and includes a centerline with a footprint centerline length. The footprint centerline length is measured by the sensor. A tire load estimator receives a precalibrated sensitivity, the footprint centerline length during straight-line driving conditions, a reference footprint value, and a reference load value as inputs. The tire load estimator determines an estimation of tire load and outputs the estimation to at least one of a vehicle control system and a vehicle electronic control unit. A method for estimating the load of a tire is also provided.

摘要: An apparatus includes a receiving module, a conversion module, first and second rollers, a motor, and a cutting head. The receiving module receives a desired weight value. The conversion module converts the desired weight value to a first length of wheel weight material based on a linear density of the wheel weight material. The first and second rollers engage first and second opposing sides of a continuous strip of the wheel weight material. The linear density of the wheel weight material is approximately constant along the continuous strip. The motor directly drives the first roller based on the first length. The cutting head is selectively actuated to cut the wheel weight material.

摘要: A method is described for calibrating a balancing machine, in which a rotor (1) to be corrected is rotatably mounted in bearings (2) and a correction run k is performed, wherein at least one measuring sensor (3) determines an initial vibration of the rotor (1) prior to an imbalance correction and transmits this vibration to an evaluation device (4), which stores the measured value as vibration vector {right arrow over (s)}0. After an imbalance on the rotor (1) is corrected, a residual vibration of the rotor (1) is measured by measuring sensor (3), transmitted to the evaluation unit (4) and stored as vibration vector {right arrow over (s)}1. The difference δ{right arrow over (s)}={right arrow over (s)}1-{right arrow over (s)}0 formed from the measurement data and the corrected imbalance is stored for compensation run k as δ{right arrow over (s)}k and {right arrow over (u)}k by the evaluation unit (4). To undertake a calibration of the machine, one can either determine a process calibration matrix K by solving the equation system S=UKT using the collected measurement data or one can select an already available process calibration matrix using the initial vibration {right arrow over (s)}0 and/or imbalance vector {right arrow over (u)} and store it as a calibration matrix in the evaluation unit (4) and use it to calculate an unknown imbalance vector of a rotor (1).
