In another aspect, unexpected benefits are found from the selective use of glass-filled nylon and stainless steel components in the fluid connectors.

    摘要: An apparatus for the mechanical and orificial coupling of a conventional liquid gas fuel supply container and/or supply outlet fixture to a control valve and/or similar secondary fuel outlet port. The coupling apparatus comprises a shaft modifying the inlet of a conventional control valve, which provides an extended port for orificial connection, and a plastic collar which intercalates into a conventional recessed supply outlet orifice fixture. The collar is first engaged with the supply outlet fixture which then makes a socket for the intercalation of the control valve shaft in a quick and secure bayonet fashion. No screw threads are used in any part of the engagement mechanisms.

    摘要: A quick disconnect nozzle assembly having a nozzle body, an annular sealing member and a nozzle tip with a socket in the body for receiving the tip and having a pair of chord-like lugs with upstream facing camming surfaces for engaging downstream facing camming recesses in a pair of radially extending shoulders on the nozzle tip to cam the tip axially into sealing engagement with the annular sealing member as the nozzle tip is inserted in the socket and rotated therein. Preferably the socket includes diametrically opposed lugs and the tip has a pair of cooperating shoulders and recesses and at least one radially extending stop adapted to engage an abutment in the base of the socket when the tip is rotated into proper position. The tip may include a swirl imparting vane and have an outer protective sleeve with longitudinal ribs to facilitate rotating the tip by hand.

    摘要: A novel device for use in combination with a coupling device for coupling a drain hose to a drain pipe outlet from a waste holding tank of a trailer is provided herein. It includes a hollow cylindrical section to which that drain hose is adapted to be clamped. An aperture of a specifically-recited size, and located at a specifically recited site surrounded by a hollow shaft covered with a slitted elastomeric cover, is provided in the hollow cylindrical collar for the insertion therethrough of a flushing hose so that the flushing hose is insertable through that slit and into the aperture, through the hollow cylindrical section, through a blade valve which is disposed in the drain pipe and directly into the waste holding tank. Flushing water may thus be directly injected into the waste holding tank while leakage of flushed water from the waste holding tank through the aperture is minimized. A circular ring-like flange is secured to the end of the section which is remote from the drain hose. Finally, a connector extends from the exposed face of the flange for providing quick connect/disconnect engagement to cooperating members projecting from the end of the drain pipe.

    摘要: An improved valve system for obtaining access to a container of fluid. In a container of fluid, and particularly a keg for beer, a valve assembly receiving member or keg neck extends from the top of the container. A sealing mechanism is provided to secure the valve assembly in sealed relationship with the keg neck and to allow access to the fluid contained by actuation of the valves. More specifically, the valve neck has a groove in its inner surface to receive a resilient retainer ring which maintains the valve assembly in place. In addition, a safety feature is provided to prevent inadvertent expulsion of the valve assembly should the retainer ring be dislodged while the keg is pressurized. A siphon tube extends from the valve assembly to a position adjacent the bottom of the keg when the valve is secured within the keg neck. The bottom portion of the tube is configured to enhance the flow of fluid into and out of the tube as well as carry a spring member for cooperating with one of the valve members in the valve assembly. An improved coupler mechanism is employed in operating the valves while avoiding inadvertent opening and closing of the valve assembly. A handle is provided on the coupler for moving the valve actuating elements between an open and a closed position. A locking mechanism on the coupler prevents engagement and disengagement of the coupler while it is in the open position.

    摘要: A quick connect/disconnect coupling assembly particularly adapted for underwater use, having a pair of coupling members, one of which is mounted on a relatively rigid structure, and a sleeve mounted over the first coupling member for relative axial and rotational movement. The sleeve is guided by a single or double J slot between axially extended locking and axially retracted unlocking positions. In the locking position, a cammed surface on the inside of the sleeve engages a ball and socket arrangement on the coupling members to prevent the coupling members from becoming unlocked; in the axially retracted unlocking position, the cammed surface of the sleeve is moved away from the ball and socket arrangement to permit free radial movement of the ball out of the socket and relative axial movement of the coupling members into and out of coupling engagement with each other. The sleeve is lockable in the axially extended locking position to provide a positive lock. Locking and unlocking is accomplished by specific pulling, twisting and pushing forces on the sleeve and/or coupling members.

    摘要: A normally closed valve is characterized by an integral valve body forming a fluid passage between an inlet thereto and an outlet therefrom, and a flow barrier within the passage integrally joined with the body to hermetically seal the passage. The barrier is movable or rupturable by a fluid coupler, inserted into the outlet end of the passage, to open the passage between the inlet thereto and the coupler.Preferably, the valve is economically formed of a plastic material, such as polyethylene, and connects at its outlet with a fluid coupler having a normally closed, movable seal at its inlet. In the use of the valve, upon movement of the inlet end of the coupler into the outlet end of the passage, the valve passage forms a fluid seal therewith prior to engagement of the barrier thereby. Continued movement of the coupler into the valve then moves the flow barrier to open the passage, and engages the coupler seal with a plunger to move the seal from a seat at the inlet to the coupler to establish the fluid passage between the inlet to the valve passage and the inlet to the coupler. In consequence of forming a seal between the valve and coupler prior to opening of either the flow barrier or the coupler seal, a connection may be established between the coupler and the valve in a drip-free manner, and the fluid to be valved is at all times maintained out of contact with the atmosphere and in a sanitary condition.

The collector bowl, near its open end, is provided with radially outwardly extending multiple counter-lugs, and the connecting housing, near its open end, is provided with inwardly extending multiple lugs. When the open end of the collector bowl is fitted within the open end of the connecting housing, the counter-lugs are moved past the lugs due to the (discontinuity) areas therebetween and the collector bowl is twisted to produce a connecting engagement between the lugs and the counter-lugs. Snap projections on the collector bowl or spring-load latching parts on the connecting housing, appropriately located, can function to lock the collector bowl to the connecting housing by preventing disengagement of the lugs and counter lugs.
