摘要: An actuator assembly for moving a member, such as a gate valve, or the like, between a retracted and extended position, and a locking device for locking the member in its extended position. A ball screw is connected to the member to be moved and is in threaded engagement with a ball nut so that, upon rotation of the ball nut, the ball screw, and therefore the member, moves between a retracted and an extended position. A gear train is connect able between a power source and the ball nut for transferring torque therebetween to rotate the nut member. The locking device cooperates with the actuator for quickly and easily locking the ball screw in an extended position at any time without requiring it to be retracted and then extended, and includes a plunger that moves axially in a housing in response to movement of the ball screw. The plunger has a reduced dimension portion, and a stem is provided that has a reduced dimension portion and a regular dimension portion. The stem is movable in the housing to a first position in which its reduced dimension portion aligns with the reduced dimension portion of the plunger to permit movement of the plunger, and therefore the member, from the predetermined position. The stem is also movable to a second position in which its regular dimension portion aligns with the necked-down portion of the plunger so that the regular dimension portion of the plunger overlaps, and is blocked by, the corresponding regular-dimension of the stem to lock the plunger, and therefore the member, in the predetermined position.

摘要: A hospital bed includes an articulatable patient support with a fowler portion movable between horizontal and inclined positions relative to a frame of the bed. A reversible electric drive motor is supported on the frame of the bed and, through a reduction gearing arrangement and a releasible coupling mechanism, can rotatably drive a threaded shaft. A nut engages and is held against rotation with the shaft, and a linkage arrangement couples the nut to the fowler portion to effect reciprocal movement of the fowler portion in response to reciprocal movement of the nut along the shaft. A manual release is provided on the fowler portion and, when actuated, disengages the releasible coupling mechanism so that the threaded shaft is free to rotate independently of the motor and gearing arrangement.

The helical spring is futhermore arranged with radial pretension of the thread flank tip between the winding turns of the helical element.

摘要: A mechanism is disclosed which produces linear motion from a rotating input while preventing the transmission of back forces in either direction. The mechanism includes a housing with an output shaft mounted for rotation within the housing. A rotatable input drive means is mounted coaxial with the shaft. The drive means includes a radially extending impelling portion. The output shaft extends axially on both sides of the impelling portion. A tubular hub is fixedly mounted on the housing and extends around the output shaft on each side of the impelling portion of the drive means. A pair of coil springs are wrapped around the output shaft with one spring on each side of the impelling portion of the drive means. Each spring has a release toe at one end which extends axially to the impelling portion and which is capable of being engaged by the impelling portion upon rotation of the drive means. The other end of each spring engages the shaft, so that the spring rotates with the shaft. A portion of each spring has a relaxed outer diameter larger than the inner diameter of the hub, so that the springs engage the hub when relaxed. Means are provided for producing linear motion from the rotation of the output shaft.

摘要: A biopsy system driver includes a motor having a rotatable output shaft, a support structure, a drive shaft, an elongate lead screw and a biopsy instrument drive member. The drive shaft is rotatably coupled to the support structure and includes or is otherwise operatively connected to the motor output shaft such that activation of the motor rotates the drive shaft. The elongate lead screw is coupled to the drive shaft such that rotation of the drive shaft rotates the lead screw about an axis of the lead screw. The lead screw is axially translatable relative to the drive shaft and to the support structure. The biopsy instrument drive member is threadably coupled to the lead screw such that rotation of the lead screw causes axial translation of one of the lead screw and biopsy instrument drive member relative to the other one and to the support structure.

The worm shaft extends from the motor into the supporting portion. The worm wheel assembly includes a worm wheel and two bearings for supporting the worm wheel in the accommodating portion. The worm wheel is drivingly engaged with the worm shaft. The lead screw is disposed through the worm wheel and driven by the motor for rotation. The telescopic pipe slips on the lead screw to be threadedly connected therewith. The outer pipe slips on the telescopic pipe. The rotation of the lead screw drives the telescopic pipe to linearly extend or retract relative to the outer pipe.

The axial bearing apparatus is further configured such that active bearing friction is dependent on a rotational direction of the rotational movement and differs for each of first and second rotational directions of the rotational movement.
