摘要: A method for checking operability of a first metering unit includes sending a control signal to a second metering unit to dispense a second quantity; comparing the quantity dispensed with the second quantity; sending a control signal to a second metering unit to introduce a third quantity; detecting the pressure drop caused by the introduction of the third quantity; sending a control signal to the first metering unit to introduce a first quantity; detecting the pressure drop caused by executing the control signal to introduce the first quantity; and ascertaining that the first metering unit is not functioning correctly if a difference between the pressure drop detected as a result of the execution of the control signal to introduce the first quantity and the pressure drop detected as a result of the execution of the control signal to introduce the third quantity is above a threshold.

A flow path through which the carrier gas passes is formed between the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder.

摘要: A wet inline scrubber with a side inlet using alkali scrubber fluid for reducing the amount of SOx in the exhaust gas of engines of a marine vessel, including a vertically extending exhaust gas reaction tube, lower and upper scrubbing chamber including alkali scrubber fluid injectors to scrub the exhaust gas, and a used scrubber fluid drain. The lower chamber has an exhaust gas outlet with a central opening arranged to let the exhaust gas pass through and a body extending from the central opening up to an outer wall thereof which is in contact with the inner wall of the exhaust gas reaction tube. Between the body and the inner wall, slit-shaped openings allow scrubber fluid to flow from the upper scrubbing chamber to the lower scrubbing chamber and used scrubber fluid to flow over the inlet side for the exhaust gas in the lower scrubbing chamber.

摘要: A dosing and mixing arrangement includes a mixing tube having a constant diameter along its length. At least a first portion of the mixing tube includes a plurality of apertures. The arrangement also includes a swirl structure for causing exhaust flow to swirl outside of the first portion of the mixing tube in one direction along a flow path that extends at least 270 degrees around a central axis of the mixing tube. The arrangement is configured such that the exhaust enters an interior of the mixing tube through the apertures as the exhaust swirls along the flow path. The exhaust entering the interior of the mixing tube through the apertures has a tangential component that causes the exhaust to swirl around the central axis within the interior of the mixing tube. The arrangement also includes a doser for dispensing a reactant into the interior of the mixing tube.

摘要: A fluid injector includes a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and a fluid path from the fluid inlet to the fluid outlet. An actuator unit is disposed within the fluid injector. A valve assembly operatively couples to the actuator unit. A spacer member is disposed between a downstream end portion of the actuator unit and a portion of the valve assembly, the spacer member constructed from a compressible, resilient material so as to compress due to expansion forces from fluid in the fluid injector freezing, and to expand when frozen fluid in the fluid injector melts. The spacer member occupies a space in the fluid path of the fluid injector.

摘要: A controller includes a switching delay circuit structured to determine an open delay time and a close delay time for a reductant injector, each based on battery voltage and reductant injector coil temperature. A dosing circuit is structured to determine an open time that the armature pin must be in the fully open position so as to cause the injector to inject a first quantity of reductant. An actuation time is determined based on each of the open time, the open delay time, and the close delay time. The actuation time relates to a time that the coil must be energized so as to cause the injector to inject the first quantity of reductant. A switching command signal is transmitted to the injector to energize the coil for the calculated actuation time so as to cause the injector to inject the first quantity of reductant into an exhaust gas stream.

摘要: A thermally integrated catalyst aftertreatment exhaust system includes a flow channel that directs diesel exhaust through a diesel oxidation catalyst unit that includes a diesel oxidation catalyst, by a doser that introduces DEF into the diesel exhaust, through a mixing chamber that includes a static metallic mixer coated with a DEF hydrolysis catalyst, and through an SCR unit that includes an SCR catalyst. The diesel oxidation catalyst converts a portion of diesel exhaust into water, carbon dioxide, or nitrogen dioxide. The DEF hydrolysis catalyst facilitates hydrolysis of the mixed DEF and diesel exhaust. The SCR catalyst facilitates reduction of NOx in the diesel exhaust. A first portion of the flow channel is in direct thermal contact with a second portion of the flow channel that houses the SCR unit such that heat from the diesel exhaust before the diesel exhaust reaches the doser is passed to the SCR unit.
