Abstract: A vehicle suspension damper includes: a cylinder and a piston assembly, wherein the piston assembly includes a piston; a working fluid within the cylinder; a bypass cylinder surrounding the cylinder and defining a cylindrical bypass channel; an adjustable bypass port fluidly coupling an interior of the cylinder and the cylindrical bypass channel; and an active bypass valve coupled with the cylindrical bypass channel, the active bypass valve configured to adjust a working size of the adjustable bypass port to modify a flow of said working fluid through the adjustable bypass port.

Abstract: A volume adjustable air chamber for a shock assembly is disclosed herein. The adjustable air chamber assembly includes a first air chamber and a second air chamber in fluid communication via a flow path. A check valve is coupled with the flow path, the check valve that allows the second air chamber to be fluidly coupled with or fluidly isolated from the first air chamber, such that the available volume of air for said first air chamber can be modified to provide different damping characteristics.

Abstract: A damper includes an inner tube elongated along an axis, a piston slidably disposed in the inner tube, and an outer tube surrounding the inner tube. The inner tube and outer tube define a fluid chamber therebetween. The damper includes and intake assembly in the fluid chamber. The intake assembly includes a unitary support ring and pair of fulcrum spacers, a support post fixed to and extending along the axis away from the unitary support ring and pair of fulcrum spacers, and a valve ring supported by the support post. The valve ring defines an orifice. A valve disc is supported by the support post between the valve ring and the unitary support ring and pair of fulcrum spacers. The valve disc covers the orifice of the valve ring.

Abstract: An off-road vehicle includes a chassis, an axle carriage, a rigid axle and a pair of suspension cylinders. The axle carriage is attached to or forms a part of the chassis, and includes a generally vertically arranged slot. The rigid axle is mounted to the axle carriage with a wheel hub at each end thereof, and is vertically movable relative to the axle carriage. The suspension cylinders are connected between the axle carriage and axle, and are operable to move the axle in vertical directions relative to the axle carriage. The off-road vehicle is characterized in that the axle includes a first pair of roll angle stops which engage the axle carriage when the axle is at or near a fully lowered position relative to the axle carriage, and a second pair of roll angle stops which engage the axle carriage when the axle is at or near a fully raised position relative to the axle carriage.

The load measuring apparatus for a construction machine according to the present invention is provided with a loading weight arithmetic module 111 that calculates a loading weight on the basis of loads of plural suspension cylinders 51 and a loading weight confirmation module 112 that outputs the calculated loading weight when the loads of the suspension cylinders 51 are all equal to or larger than a specified value and makes the calculated loading weight ineffective without outputting the loading weight when any one of the loads is below the specified value.

Abstract: A damper assembly with a bypass for a vehicle comprises a pressure cylinder with a piston and piston rod for limiting the flow rate of damping fluid as it passes from a first to a second side of said piston. A bypass provides a fluid pathway between the first and second sides of the piston separately from the flow rare limitation. In one aspect, the bypass is remotely controllable from a passenger compartment of the vehicle. In another aspect, the bypass is remotely controllable based upon one or more variable parameters associated with the vehicle.

Abstract: A damping device includes a housing defining a pressure chamber, containing a magnetorheological fluid. A rod is slideably coupled to the housing to adjust a length of the housing. A piston is attached to the rod and disposed within the pressure chamber. The piston is immersed within the magnetorheological fluid, and separates the pressure chamber into a first half and a second half. An electromagnet is disposed in magnetic contact with the magnetorheological fluid, and is operable to apply a magnetic field to the magnetorheological fluid to increase viscosity of the magnetorheological fluid to prevent movement of the rod relative to the housing. The magnetorheological fluid is free to flow through a fluid port in the piston, between a first half and a second half of the pressure chamber, in the absence of the magnetic field from the magnetic source to allow adjustment of the length.
