Abstract: A damping arrangement of an active chassis for an axle of a motor vehicle. A damping system cooperates with each wheel of the axle, wherein each of the damping systems includes a damper, a hydraulic pump, and an electric motor. A hydraulic unit includes a hydraulic reservoir and valves, wherein the hydraulic pump and the hydraulic unit of the respective damping system cooperate with hydraulic chambers of the hydraulic cylinder of the respective damping system, such that, depending on the conveying direction of the hydraulic pump of the hydraulic unit, a movement of the piston in a first actuation direction or in a second actuation direction can be provided. The hydraulic pumps and the electric motors of both damping systems are combined to form a motor-pump unit. The motor-pump unit is fastened on both sides thereof to an axle carrier of the axle via two bearings.

Abstract: A suspension system including hydraulic circuits that extend between dampers located at opposite corners of the vehicle and at least one load distribution unit that is connected in fluid communication with at least two hydraulic circuits. The load distribution unit includes a manifold block with a cylinder bore, a pair of pressure tubes, a piston rod assembly, and an integral rod guide and pressure tube coupler. The pressure tubes are partially received in the cylinder bore to define a pair of opposed cylinders and mate with the integral rod guide and pressure tube coupler. The piston rod assembly includes a piston rod and a pair of opposed pistons that are slidingly received within the opposed cylinders. In addition to retaining the pressure tubes, the integral rod guide and pressure tube coupler supports and permits the piston rod to slide longitudinally relative to the manifold block.

One or more frequency dependent valves are connected to and control fluid flow between the first and second hydraulic circuits. The frequency dependent valves are configured to open and hydraulicly decouple the dampers by permitting fluid flow between the first and second hydraulic circuits in response to high frequency suspension impacts.

An example method can include obtaining an image of a location where a scale is located in a vehicle, the scale being used for cargo weight measurement, determining from the image, when the location of the scale is located is empty, determining a weight value output by the scale, determining an offset for the scale when the weight value is greater than a weight threshold, and adjusting the scale using the offset to zero the scale.

Abstract: A method for operating a damper system of a vehicle having an active damper and a hydraulic assembly arranged to control the damper. The hydraulic assembly includes a hydraulic pump and at least one control valve. Requirements placed upon the damper are defined with regard to the dynamics and force that are to be set. Depending on the defined requirements, the hydraulic pump of the hydraulic assembly operates at a minimum rotary speed and a defined opening setting of the at least one control valve. Based on the minimum rotary speed of the hydraulic pump and the defined opening settings of the control valve, a dynamic force setting of the damper takes place by way of a change of the opening setting of the at least one control valve. Alternatively or additionally, a high-value force setting of the damper takes place by changing the rotary speed of the pump.
