    摘要: Hydraulic fluid leakage collection apparatus that includes an annular collection chamber that is carried in a cylindrical member within which a piston member is movable. A seal and wiper are carried by the clamp cylinder of an injection molding machine to seal the space between the clamp piston and the clamp cylinder and also to wipe from the surface of the clamp piston accumulated hydraulic fluid. Positioned adjacent the wiper ring is a drain passageway that is adapted to receive the hydraulic leakage fluid that is wiped by the wiper ring from the piston. A conduit extends from the drain passageway to an air operated vacuum pump to draw the leakage hydraulic fluid from the drain passageway. A container is positioned in the conduit between the drain passageway and the vacuum pump to collect the hydraulic leakage fluid that is collected.

The control arrangement involves the sensing of the actual hydraulic pressure during the clamp force maintenance portion of a clamping cycle and comparing the actual pressure with a desired pressure to provide a correction signal to be utilized to control the operation of the hydraulic system during the next succeeding cycle so that the actual hydraulic pressure during the clamp maintenance portion of the clamping cycle during the next succeeding cycle results in a clamping force that is closer to the desired clamping force.

    摘要: An improved computer controlled hydraulic system for a conventional toggle-operated plastic injection molding machine comprising an injection assembly and a mold clamping assembly. The hydraulic system includes a first low volume pump and a second high volume pump connected between a reservoir of hydraulic fluid and a pressure and flow control manifold. The output of the pressure and flow control manifold is connected to an injection control manifold, in turn conected to and operating the instrumentalities of the injection assembly. The output of the pressure and flow control manifold is also connected to a clamping control manifold, in turn connected to and operating the cylinder of the clamping assembly. An isolation manifold is connected between the pressure and flow control manifold and the clamping control manifold. A third low volume pump is connected between the reservoir and the isolation manifold. The isolation manifold is also connected to the reservoir. When unactuated, the isolation manifold connects the output of the pressure and flow control manifold directly to the clamping control manifold and recirculates the third pump to reservoir, when the machine is to perform sequential cycles such as conventional injection molding or conventional coining. When actuated, the isolation manifold disconnects the clamping manifold from the pressure and flow control manifold and connects the third pump to the clamping control manifold, enabling the machine to perform a coining cycle with individual and simultaneous clamping and injection control, and precise and repeatable position and speed control of the coining step.

    摘要: A grinder has an abrasive belt removably mounted on a wheel for grinding a workpiece. The belt has its ends extend through a transverse slot in the wheel into a recess within the wheel. One end of the belt is attached to a first slider and the other end of the belt is attached to a second slider with the sliders increasing the tension on the ends of the belt through outward movement of the sliders by centrifugal force as the wheel rotates with the tension increasing as the angular velocity of the wheel increases. The sliders may move parallel to each other or along two separate radii extending from the axis of rotation of the wheel. Pivotally mounted pendulums may be employed instead of the sliders to apply tension to each end of the belt with the pendulums increasing the tension on the ends of the belt through outward movement of the pendulums by centrifugal force created by rotation of the wheel.

    摘要: A reheat blow molding machine has an improved article handling system that carries heated preforms by a carriage assembly from an oven to a roller chain conveyor which moves them to a blow mold from when the blown product is moved to an eject station. The motions are linear and cyclical or periodic, drive means for such intermittent motions being provided. Preforms are handled in groups of four, each one being supported by its capping ring in a locating notch on the carriage and by the finish groove in a holder notch above it when it is transferred to the conveyor. All notches are open on the side facing the oven and have self-centering features to get and keep alignment for transfer and positioning at the blow mold. The carriage which moves preforms horizontally toward the conveyor and raises them to the elevation for transfer to the holder notches of the conveyor. Transfer happens when the carriage passes underneath the conveyor whereupon the holder notches of the conveyor engage the preform grooves and sweep or wipe the preforms out of the open side of the carriage notches. The conveyor roller chain moves linearly at right angles to the carriage path and delivers correctly aligned group of preforms to a corresponding group of blow molds. The chain is on its side, i.e. with pins vertical, the holder notches are supported by chain lugs outward of the chain on a leaf spring, and sliding bearing means extend horizontally out from the chain to engage tracks which provide vertical support on the straight runs. At the blow station, the center rod passes through the stuffer cylinder rod and stuffer nose in a fluid-tight telescoping relation. At the ejection station, vertical guides provide position control over the product when the latter is pushed out of the conveyor holder notches whereby the product keeps a vertical alignment and falls away on a predetermined axis.
