    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) may be configured to communicate with a first base station, where the first UE is configured to relay wireless communications between a second UE and the first base station via at least a sidelink communication link between the first UE and the second UE. The first UE may receive, from the first base station, an indication for the first UE to perform a first handover procedure from the first base station to a second base station. The first UE may transmit, to the second UE via the sidelink communication link and based on receiving the indication to perform the first handover procedure, a sidelink transmission including a trigger for the second UE to perform a second handover procedure or a reselection procedure. The first UE may then communicate with the second base station based on performing the first handover procedure from the first base station to the second base station.

    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to mechanisms for proximity service (ProSe) authorization and provisioning. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to support ProSe communication and may indicate this capability to a radio access network (RAN) and a core network during registration of the UE. Based on the ProSe indication, the RAN may select an access and mobility management function (AMF) that supports ProSe authorization and policy provisioning and forward a registration request indicating the UE supports ProSe communication to the selected AMF. Upon authorizing the UE for ProSe operation, the AMF may transmit a registration accept message including a ProSe supported indication to the UE. The UE may then initiate a ProSe session with another UE based on the ProSe supported indication in the registration accept message.

In some aspects, a remote user equipment (UE) may communicate with a network entity via a relay UE using one or more radio resource control (RRC) messages that are encapsulated in a dedicated sidelink signaling message directed to the relay UE. The UE may receive, from the network entity via the one or more RRC messages, an access stratum configuration for a sidelink unicast link between the remote UE and the relay UE.     Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for handling a radio link failure timer in the presence of a conditional handover command. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a serving cell, a conditional handover command for handing over the UE to a target neighbor cell, wherein the conditional handover command includes one or more triggering conditions for executing a handover to a candidate target cell; monitoring one or more first signals from the candidate target cell for the one or more triggering conditions; and performing one of: stopping a timer based on performing a conditional handover to the target candidate cell; or detecting a timer has expired while monitoring the one or more first signals from the candidate target cell for the one or more triggering conditions.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a dual connectivity configuration for a set of communication links, where at least one communication link of the set includes a sidelink. The UE may transmit a report based on an event associated with the sidelink that triggers the power headroom report. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may identify a carrier aggregation configuration for a set of communication links where at least one communication link of the set is a sidelink. The UE may determine an event associated with the sidelink that triggers a power headroom report, and transmit the power headroom report based on the determined event associated with the sidelink that triggers the power headroom report.
