    摘要: Unsaturated coconut and/or palm nut fatty alcohols having an iodine number in the range from 65 to 85, which essentially comprise unsaturated fatty alcohols and mixtures of saturated fatty alcohols of the formula (I): R1OH   (I) in which R1 is a saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched alkyl radical having 12 to 20 carbon atoms, obtainable by fractionating coconut and/or palm nut fatty acid methyl esters to obtain a fraction containing predominantly C16-C18 portions, fractionating the C16-C18 fatty acid methyl ester fraction into a predominantly saturated distillate and a predominantly unsaturated bottom product, and hydrogenating the bottom product with retention of the double bonds to give the corresponding alcohols; are disclosed.

    摘要: Described is the use of oleophilic monomeric and/or oligomeric diesters of carbonic acid with the same or different oil-soluble and ecologically compatible mono-functional and optionally polyfunctional alcohols as a component of oil-based or water-based drilling fluids and other fluid drill-hole treatment agents. The invention in one embodiment comprises oil-based fluids, and particularly inverted fluids of the W/O type, which in the continuous phase at least in part contain oleophilic carbonic acid diesters. In a further important embodiment the invention relates to water-based emulsion fluids which in the dispersed oil phase at least in part contain said oleophilic carbonic acid diesters. The invention further comprises drill-hole treatment agents, and especially drilling fluids of the above-mentioned types, the continuous or dispersed oil phases of which, respectively, consist of oleophilic carbonic acid disasters or contain said ester type in admixture with other ecologically compatible oil mixing components. Preferred mixing components for a use in combination which the carbonic acid diesters are appropriate carboxylic acid ester oils, oleophilic alcohols and/or oleophilic ethers.

    摘要: Methods of use of carbonic acid esters corresponding to general formula I: ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 is an alkyl radical derived from an aliphatic saturated primary alcohol containing 1 to 22 carbon atoms and R.sup.2 is an alkyl radical derived from an aliphatic, saturated primary alcohol containing 1 to 8 carbon atoms and/or has the same meaning as R.sup.1 and n is a number of 2 to 20 while m is 0 or has the same meaning as n, as foam control agents for the sugar beet or potato-processing food industry and/or in fermentation processes are provided. In the industrial processing of sugar-containing plant juices, as carried out on an industrial scale in the case of sugar beet, particular difficulties are caused by excessive foaming in the defecation units, during transport of the beet, in the diffusors and in the carbonizing tanks and before the evaporators, thus, use of the esters in these processes is advantageous. Other areas of use include the production of potato products, such as chips or French fries, in the production of baker's yeast using molasses or other industrial fermentation processes, such as the production of medicaments, to reduce foaming to a level which does not interfere with the industrial production process.
