Abstract:
A device configured to bury a conduit in the bed of a body of water has a digging module configured to dig a trench in the bed of the body of water; a manipulating module configured to feed conduit sections into the trench; and a push module configured to join the conduit sections inside the trench and move the device in a travelling direction.
Abstract:
A silencer for silencing the driving of piles into the bed of a body of water is configured to fit around a pile, and has a first tube; a second tube inserted inside and spaced apart from the first tube, both the first and second tube being longer than the depth of the bed of the body of water on which they are to rest; and a bottom wall, which is joined hermetically to respective ends of the first and second tube to form a gap between the first and second tube, and is configured to rest on the bed of the body of water.
Abstract:
A joining device configured to join two facing and aligned pipeline sections presents two coupling members selectively couplable to respective pipeline sections at two respective facing flanges located at the ends of respective pipeline sections; a pulling mechanism suitable to move the coupling members towards each other in abutment against the flanges and to temporarily tighten the flanges by moving the coupling members towards each other; and a tightening mechanism suitable to definitively tighten the coupling members while the pulling mechanism keeps the flanges tight.
Abstract:
A vessel for laying a pipeline includes a plurality of workstations disposed along a pipelaying path that includes an upstream portion away from a first end of the vessel and a plurality of ramps, includes a first ramp and a downstream second ramp disposed along the pipelaying path, in the region of the first end of the vessel. Each of the plurality of ramps has a first upstream end, a second downstream end, and an adjustable inclination. The downstream end of the first ramp is positioned inboard of the first end of the vessel and above the bottom of the vessel and the upstream end of the second ramp is positioned inboard of the first end of the vessel and above the bottom of the vessel. An external ramp assembly includes ramps that can be pivoted relative to one another and locked in a selected position.
Abstract:
A variable-draft barge configured to transfer loads in a body of water, and having a water line which is a function of the draft; the barge having: a hull; an underbody; at least one first chamber located in the hull and floodable selectively to alter the draft of the barge; at least one flood valve located below the water line to flood the first chamber; and a control device configured to selectively open the flood valve to flood the first chamber.
Abstract:
A laying device configured to lay a pipeline on the bed of a body of water having a frame; a movable member mounted on the frame and configured to be placed in contact with a pipeline extending along a longitudinal axis and equipped with special parts; and at least one actuator configured to transmit rotation to the movable member to apply corrective torsion on the pipeline.

Abstract:
A method of laying conduit at sea from a reel vessel includes the steps of laying conduit, for example pipeline or umbilical, from a first reel which rotates about a first substantially vertical axis. Conduit is laid from a second reel of conduit rotating about a second substantially vertical axis spaced apart from the first axis. A portion of the route travelled by the conduit during the step of laying conduit from the first reel of conduit is substantially the same as a portion of the route travelled by the conduit during the step of laying conduit from the second reel of conduit, for example, the conduit from the second reel may pass around a part of the periphery of the first reel and then follow substantially the same path as previously travelled by the conduit laid from the first reel.
Abstract:
A method of laying a pipeline from a laying vessel into a body of water includes guiding the pipeline along a supporting structure of a laying ramp. The method also includes acquiring a first data item correlated to a position of the pipeline at a free end of the laying ramp using an optical sensor or an acoustic sensor. The method further includes determining whether the acquired first data item is within an acceptance range predetermined as a function of a configuration of the supporting structure and a size of the pipeline. Additionally, the method includes emitting an control signal when the acquired first data item is not within the acceptance range. Determining whether the acquired first data item is within the acceptance range includes processing the acquired first data item to compare it the first data item to an information stored in a memory.
Abstract:
A system for handling operations in a body of water has an unmanned floating vehicle configured to perform first activities from a surface of the body of water; at least one intervention/inspection device configured to perform second activities in/on the body of water; a first control module, configured to control the performance of the first activities according to first acquired data; a second control module, configured to control the performance of the second activities according to second acquired data; and a mission control unit in communication with the first and the second control module and configured to assign respective first activities to the first control module and respective second activities to the second control module according to a mission prediction model and to control the performance of the first and second activities assigned in combination.
