Abstract:
Disclosed are multicomponent fibers derived from a blend of a sulfopolyester with a water non-dispersible polymer wherein the as-spun denier is less than about 6 and wherein the water dispersible sulfopolyester exhibits a melt viscosity of less than 12,000 poise measured at 240° C. at a strain rate of 1 rad/sec, and wherein the sulfopolyester comprising less than about 25 mole % of residues of at least one sulfomonomer, based on the total moles of diacid or diol residues. The multicomponent fiber is capable of being drawn at a relatively high fiber speed, particularly at least about 2000 m/min, and may be used to produce microdenier fibers. Fibrous articles may be produced from the multicomponent fibers and microdenier fibers. Also disclosed is a process for multicomponent fibers, nonwoven fabrics, and microdenier webs.

Compositions containing atorvastatin, including its pharmaceutically acceptable salts, solvates, hydrates, enantiomers, polymorphs and their mixtures, and processes for preparing the same. Further aspects relate to pharmaceutical formulations comprising compositions containing atorvastatin, or a salt thereof, processes for preparing the same, and their methods of use, treatment and administration.
Abstract:
A composition comprising perfluoro-[2,2]-paracyclophane dimer compound is disclosed. The synthesis reaction of the paracyclophane dimer from 1,4-bis(chlorodifluoromethane)-2,3,5,6-tetrafluorobenzene involves heating in the presence of a metal catalyst and a solvent. A perfluorinated paraxylylene coating formed from the perfluorinated paracyclophane dimer is also disclosed.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an Instant Messaging (IM) System (100) for a Virtual Learning Community (VLC). Clients (150) or user of the VLC are differentiated in their roles, and appropriate rules are set for each role by a Role Extension engine (124c). A user (150) is now allowed to appear with separate roles across separate groups. The Role Extension engine (124c) returns a structured contact list (192a) to a user and an Activation engine 124g updates the user presence information in a VLC Messenger Database 112. A roster engine (14, 25,26) then updates the presence of all the clients who has logged-on to a VLC Server (120), which comprises a VLC Database Server (122), a VLC Web Server (124) and a VLC Messenger Server (126). With the Role Extension engine (124c) together with VLC Client Application Tools (151), a lecturer or teaching assistant (TA) is able to monitor a virtual classroom in session and records students' attendance, inputs and participation. A lecturer can review the TA assessments and publish the students' progress report for continuous assessments. Classroom interaction is now enhanced, for example, a lecturer can take control over a student's desktop, mark a point on the student's desktop and broadcast the captured desktop to his group of students.
Abstract:
A heat sink assembly having excellent heat dissipation for internally integrated inverter hub motor for light electric vehicles and comprising of a thermally conducive ring, the electronic board consisting of multiple inverter switches, a potential secondary electronic board and a heat sink base, where the thermally conductive one piece ring is pressed down on the inverter switches to affix the switches to the hub of the motor thereby creating a mechanism for heat dissipation.
Abstract:
An integrated circuit an array of nodes linked by an on-chip communication network. Messages are communicated between nodes utilizing logical channels representing hardware resources at the associated nodes. A given logical channel is associated with a receiver node and a transmitter node. The receiver node is adapted to send flow control messages to the transmitter node. The flow control messages include credits that identify hardware resources of the receiver node that are available for receiving messages over the given logical channel. The transmitter node is adapted to maintain a running total of the credits included as part of the flow control messages communicated from the receiver node and to initiate transmission of messages to the receiver node in accordance with the running total of credits maintained at the transmitter node. In the preferred embodiment, the transmitter node is adapted to initiate transmission of a message to the receiver node only if the total number of credits maintained at the transmitter node is sufficient to store the message at the receiver node. A given credit can include an address generated by a receiver node and representing an address in the local memory of the receiver node for storing data. The transmitter node transmits the address of the given credit to the receiver node for storing data therein.
Abstract:
A scalable architecture for providing real-time multi-camera distributed video processing and visualization. An exemplary system comprises at least one video capture and storage system for capturing and storing a plurality of input videos, at least one vision based alarm system for detecting and reporting alarm situations or events, and at least one video rendering system (e.g., a video flashlight system) for displaying an alarm situation in a context that speeds up comprehension and response. One advantage of the present architecture is that these systems are all scalable, such that additional sensors (e.g., cameras, motion sensors, infrared sensors, chemical sensors, biological sensors, temperature sensors and like) can be added in large numbers without overwhelming the ability of security forces to comprehend the alarm situation.
Abstract:
