    摘要: A method, system and computer program product for inferring topic evolution and emergence in a set of documents. In one embodiment, the method comprises forming a group of matrices using text in the documents, and analyzing these matrices to identify a first group of topics as evolving topics and a second group of topics as emerging topics. The matrices includes a first matrix X identifying a multitude of words in each of the documents, a second matrix W identifying a multitude of topics in each of the documents, and a third matrix H identifying a multitude of words for each of the multitude of topics. These matrices are analyzed to identify the evolving and emerging topics. In an embodiment, the documents form a streaming dataset, and two forms of temporal regularizers are used to help identify the evolving topics and the emerging topics in the streaming dataset.

    摘要: A system, method and computer program product provides for multiple imputation of missing data elements in retail data sets used for modeling and decision-support applications based on the multi-dimensional, tensor structure of the data sets, and a fast, scalable scheme is implemented that is suitable for large data sets. The method generates multiple imputations comprising a set of complete data sets each containing one of a plurality of imputed realizations for the missing data values in the original data set, so that the variability in the magnitudes of these missing data values can be captured for subsequent statistical analysis. The method is based on the multi-dimensional structure of the retail data sets incorporating tensor factorization, that in a preferred embodiment can be implemented using fast, scalable imputation methods suitable for large data sets, to obtain multiple complete data sets in which the original missing values are replaced by various imputed values.

    摘要: Disclosed is a system and method that resolves a mismatch between software versions executing on redundant controllers. A mismatch between a first software version executing on a first redundant controller and a second software version executing on a second redundant controller is identified. By comparing software version identifiers associated with the first software version, the second software version, and a stored system software identifier, a preferred software version is selected. The preferred software version is copied from a controller running the preferred software version to the other controllers.

    摘要: Disclosed are a system and method to preserve and recover unwritten data present in data cache of a disk subsystem across power outages. In one embodiment, a method of a controller is described. The method includes applying a write-back technique between a host server and a data store, accessing a dirty data in a cache memory during a power outage. The method may apply an algorithm for efficiently offloading the dirty data to a non-volatile storage device during the power outage. In addition the method may apply the algorithm to efficiently transfer the dirty data from the non-volatile storage device to the data store when power is restored.

    摘要: A system for the laser scribing of semiconductor devices includes a laser light source operable to selectably deliver laser illumination at a first wavelength and at a second wavelength which is shorter than the first wavelength. The system further includes a support for a semiconductor device and an optical system which is operative to direct the laser illumination from the light source to the semiconductor device. The optical system includes optical elements which are compatible with the laser illumination of the first wavelength and the laser illumination of the second wavelength. In specific instances, the first wavelength is long wavelength illumination such as illumination of at least 1000 nanometers, and the second wavelength is short wavelength illumination which in specific instances is 300 nanometers or shorter. By the use of the differing wavelengths, specific layers of the semiconductor device may be scribed without damage to subjacent layers. Also disclosed are specific scribing processes.

    摘要: A metal and oxygen material such as a transparent electrically conductive oxide material is electro deposited onto a substrate in a solution deposition process. Process parameters are controlled so as to result in the deposition of a high quality layer of material which is suitable for use in a back reflector structure of a high efficiency photovoltaic device. The deposition may be carried out in conjunction with a masking member which operates to restrict the deposition of the metal and oxygen material to specific portions of the substrate. In particular instances the deposition may be implemented in a continuous, roll-to-roll process. Further disclosed are semiconductor devices and components of semiconductor devices made by the present process, as well as apparatus for carrying out the process.

    摘要: A light weight photovoltaic device for use in stratospheric and outer space applications. The device includes a protective surface coating on the light incident side thereof. The protective coating does not deleteriously affect the photovoltaic properties of the solar cell, is formed of a material which protects said solar cell from the harsh conditions in the stratospheric or outer space environment in which the photovoltaic device is adapted to be used; and remains substantially unchanged when exposed to the harsh conditions in the stratosphere or outer space. The protective coating is preferably made of a spray coated silicone based material and is between 0.01 and 2 mil thick.

    摘要: An igniter for a plasma processing apparatus comprises a hollow, at least partially microwave transmissive, body having a gas inlet and gas outlet passing therethrough. The geometry of the inlet and outlet are selected so that the outlet provides a greater impedance to gas flow than does the inlet. In this manner, there is provided a high pressure region in the igniter in which plasma ignition is facilitated. Ionized species generated in the igniter function to initiate plasma formation externally of the igniter.
