    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may attempt to connect to a base station using a random access procedure. During the random access procedure, the base station may transmit control information associated with a random access response (RAR) during a RAR window. The UE may attempt to receive a single instance of the control information and, in some cases, may be unable to receive and decode the single instance of the control information. The base station may configure one or more RAR windows (or segment(s) thereof) to support transmitting repeating instances of the control information and/or RAR. The UE may identify a quantity of instances of the repeated control information and combine the instances. The UE may successfully decode the combined instances of control information and identify a location for receiving the RAR.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may select a random access channel (RACH) occasion (RO) based on one or more channel quality thresholds, such as reference signal received power (RSRP) thresholds. A base station may determine a set of RO types for receiving RACH transmissions. The base station may determine a channel quality threshold for each RO type. The base station may broadcast a configuration indicating the RO types and the associated channel quality thresholds. The UE may receive the configuration and measure a channel quality between the UE and the base station. Based on the measured channel quality, the UE may determine which RO types are available based on the indicated channel quality thresholds, and select an RO for transmitting a RACH preamble to establish a connection with the base station based on the available RO types.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For example, a method for wireless communications at a user equipment (UE), may include receiving a configuration for reporting feedback associated with beam blocking. The UE may perform a decoding process on one or more downlink transmissions via a set of multiple beams. The UE may determine whether a failure of the decoding process is a result of one or more of the plurality of beams being at least partially blocked during the one or more downlink transmissions according to the configuration. The UE may also transmit a negative acknowledgement (NACK) and link adaptation information, where the NACK acknowledgement is based on the failure of the decoding process and the link adaptation information is based on determining whether the one or more of the set of multiple beams are at least partially blocked.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may support repetitions of any uplink transmission as a function of, at least, uplink transmission priority. In some implementations, a base station may transmit to the UE a configuration or an indication of a configuration that maps different repetition values to different priority levels, among other factors. Subsequently, the base station may transmit a message to the UE scheduling or activating an uplink transmission for the UE to send. The UE may then transmit the uplink transmission according to a number of repetitions determined based on the received configuration and a priority level of the uplink transmission. In some implementations, the number of repetitions of each uplink transmission may be jointly determined with uplink priority and one or more other factors, such as UCI type, an SRS purpose, or any combination thereof.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may support separate feedback for multiple semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) configurations. The UE may be configured with a set of uplink resources that includes a first subset of uplink resources associated with a first control resource set (CORESET) pool and a second subset of uplink resources associated with a second CORESET pool. The UE may receive first and second SPS downlink transmissions associated with the first and second CORESET pools, respectively. The UE may select a first uplink resource from the first subset of uplink resources and a second uplink resource from the second subset of uplink resources based on the SPS downlink transmissions or a payload of a respective feedback transmission. The UE may transmit one or more feedback transmissions in the first uplink resource or the second uplink resource.
