Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit compressed interference information to a network entity. The UE may measure interference at the UE over a set of interference measurement resources. The UE may determine an interference distribution over the set of resources. The UE may encode the interference distribution using a compressions scheme which may reduce a payload or size of the interference distribution. The compression scheme may include compressing the distribution of the interference. Encoding the interference information may include generating a mean vector and a covariance matrix representative of the distribution of the interference measured over the given set of interference measurement resources. The UE may transmit the encoded interference information, and the network entity may decode the encoded interference information. The network entity may schedule communications with the UE based on the interference information.

The one or more RS resources may be associated with an index modulation technique including a plurality of UL or DL information bits. The UE may transmit, to the base station, or receive, from the base station, the plurality of UL or DL information bits. The plurality of UL or DL information bits may include at least one of one or more first bits or one or more second bits. At least one of the one or more RS resources may be selected based on at least one of the one or more first bits or the one or more second bits.

Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to dynamically updating a mapping of uplink control information (UCI) payload size to the one or more physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resource sets or the one or more PUCCH formats. For example, a base station or a user equipment (UE) may update the mapping when the UE is in a coverage enhancement condition. The base station or UE may dynamically update the mapping of UCI payload size to the one or more PUCCH resource sets or the one or more PUCCH formats. The UE may map a UCI payload to a selected PUCCH resource set or PUCCH format according to the updated mapping to generate a UCI. Based on the updated mappings, the UE can accordingly transmit UCI based on a selected PUCCH resource set or format, or a base station can receive the UCI based on the selected PUCCH resource set or format.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide a method for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE). The UE receives, from a network entity, after transmitting at least a first repetition of a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmission according to a first repetition factor, a dynamic indication of a second repetition factor to apply for transmitting the same PUCCH transmission. The UE determines an application time of the second repetition factor based on at least a timing of a last complete or partial transmission instance of the PUCCH transmission. The UE transmits, to the network entity, one or more additional repetitions of the PUCCH transmission based, at least in part, on the determined application time of the second repetition factor.

Abstract: A random access procedure between a user equipment (UE) and a base station may include repetition of a random access message 3 based on an indication provided by a random access response (RAR) message including a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) portion and a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) portion. The base station may transmit the RAR message to indicate at least one random access message 3 repetition parameter. The UE may determine at least one random access message 3 repetition parameter based on the RAR message. The UE may transmit the random access message 3 with repetition based on the message 3 repetition parameter, and the base station may receive the random access message 3 based on the repetition parameter, thereby improving coverage of the random access message 3.

The method may involve a user equipment (UE) utilizing beam sweeping during a random access procedure to determine an uplink beam for subsequent communication with a base station. The UE may transmit a first message indicating a random access preamble for a random access procedure and a plurality of reference signals using a set of directional beams. The base station may receive the reference signals or information related to the reference signals and transmit a second message indicating a directional beam of the set of directional beams and a set of resources. Upon receiving the second message, the UE may transmit the third message over the set of resources using the indicated directional beam.

The described techniques provide for detecting when a control link between a user equipment (UE) and a base station is lost and recovering the control link. In one example, a UE may detect that a control link with a base station is lost based on a timer or counter expiring or based on failing to receive signaling from the base station. In another example, a UE may be configured to transmit uplink transmissions to a base station to maintain a control link with the base station, and the base station may detect that a control link with the UE is lost if the base station fails to receive one or more uplink transmissions from the UE. If the control link is lost, the base station and the UE may communicate to re-establish the control link.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for transmission continuity capability reporting. A user equipment (UE) may generate or otherwise determine UE capability information related to a capability of the UE to maintain a transmission continuity for one or more uplink transmissions across a wireless channel. The UE may send an indication of the transmission continuity capability information, which may be based on a parameter of continuity, an accuracy of continuity, or both, to a base station (BS). The UE may transmit the one or more uplink transmissions, including reference signals, data messages, or both, in accordance with the transmission continuity capability. For example, the UE may maintain a transmission continuity, a transmit power, or both for transmissions across multiple resource blocks (RBs). The BS may perform a joint channel estimation procedure based on the one or more uplink transmissions.
