摘要: A sound damping wallboard and methods of forming a sound damping wallboard are disclosed. The sound damping wallboard comprises a gypsum layer with a gypsum surface having an encasing layer. The encasing layer is partially removed to expose the gypsum surface and form a gypsum surface portion and a first encasing layer portion on the gypsum layer. A sound damping layer is applied to the gypsum layer to cover at least part of the gypsum surface portion and the encasing layer portion.

摘要: Airfoils for gas turbine engines are provided. In one embodiment, an airfoil formed from a ceramic matrix composite material includes opposite pressure and suction sides extending radially along a span and defining an outer surface of the airfoil. The airfoil also includes opposite leading and trailing edges extending radially along the span. The pressure and suction sides extend axially between the leading and trailing edges. The leading edge defines a forward end of the airfoil, and the trailing edge defining an aft end of the airfoil. Further, the airfoil includes a trailing edge portion defined adjacent the trailing edge at the aft end of the airfoil; a plenum defined within the airfoil forward of the trailing edge portion; and a cooling passage defined within the trailing edge portion proximate the suction side. Methods for forming airfoils for gas turbine engines also are provided.

The method includes creating a customized flame cell using an additive manufacturing technique, which generally includes forming a body and forming one or more channels in the body. The one or more channels define a flow path configured to transfer heat from a flame front propagating through the flow path to the body. The method also includes providing a housing, and securely arranging the flame cell within the housing.

摘要: A sheet processing device separates a two-ply sheet in which two sheets are overlapped and partially bonded and sandwich a sheet medium between the two sheets. The sheet processing device includes a relay conveyance path, a sheet loader, and control circuitry. The sheet medium is fed from an image forming apparatus connected upstream of the sheet processing device through the relay conveyance path. The sheet loader loads at least one of the two-ply sheet and the sheet medium. The control circuitry performs a mixing mode to feed the two-ply sheet or the sheet medium from the sheet loader.

摘要: Flexible and stretchable electronics, including supercapacitors and pressure sensors, are made using carbon nanostructures produced by providing a first composite structure which includes a temporary substrate and an array of carbon nanotubes arranged in a stack on a surface of the temporary substrate such that the stack of carbon nanotubes is oriented generally perpendicular to the surface of the temporary substrate, which may include silicon dioxide. The stack of carbon nanotubes is transferred from the temporary substrate to another substrate, which includes a curable polymer, thereby forming another composite structure comprising the stack of carbon nanotubes and the cured polymer.

摘要: A polymer-metal sandwich structure includes a first layer made of a polymer and having a first bonding surface, a second layer made of a metal and having a second bonding surface, and a third layer sandwiched between and in contact with the first and second bonding surfaces. The first layer contains or is capable of liberating anions of a first ion type at the first bonding surface, the second layer contains or is capable of liberating cations of a second ion type at the second bonding surface, and the third layer is made of a flame retardant formed of anions of the first ion type and cations of the second ion type. A method of manufacturing the polymer-metal sandwich structure is also provided.

摘要: A method for manufacturing a roll of stock material for making a label having a shelf portion with pressure sensitive adhesive and a bib portion with deadened adhesive is provided. The shelf portion includes a layer of polymer. A continuous layer of paper is bonded to a continuous layer of polymer with applied strips of catalyzed adhesive from a roller. Unbonded strips of polymer are kiss-cut and removed to expose the paper between bonded strips of polymer. A continuous layer of pressure sensitive adhesive is applied over the polymer and exposed paper. Strips of deadening agent are applied over the layer of pressure sensitive adhesive that overlays the exposed paper. The pressure sensitive adhesive and deadening agent are cured and a release layer is applied over them.
