Abstract: A culture system has a culture bag for suspending and culturing pluripotent stem cells in a culture medium; a waste liquid container for storing used culture medium that is connected to the culture bag; a fresh medium container for storing a fresh culture medium that is connected to the culture bag; three-way stopcocks for switching flow channels from the culture bag to the waste liquid container or the fresh culture medium container, etc.; a trap portion for trapping the pluripotent stem cells in the culture medium in the flow toward the waste liquid container side; and a filter portion for subculturing that is formed in fourth and fifth flow channels in parallel to a first flow channel. The first flow channel connects the trap part to the culture bag, and has a mesh by which a cell mass of the pluripotent stem cells can be divided. A pump is used to pump the liquid in the individual flow channels.

Abstract: The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a cell dispersion measurement mechanism whereby it becomes possible to fully disperse cells regardless of the experiences of operators skilled in cell culture and it also becomes possible to determine the number or concentration of cells accurately; a cell culture apparatus equipped with the cell dispersion measurement mechanism; and a cell dispersion measurement method. The problem can be solved by circulating a cell suspension in a flow path to disperse cell masses contained in the cell suspension, and then determining over time the number or concentration of cells and/or the degree of dispersion of cells in the cell suspension that is flowing in the circulation flow path.

Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention provides an apparatus and method for expanding skin capable of expanding autologous skin to the maximum extent and performing a tissue culture of skin at the outside of the body. While an apparatus for expanding autologous skin of body's outside in general takes a form of expanding skin by applying a certain amount of constant force for a period of time regardless of the skin properties, the apparatus and method for expanding skin according to the embodiment of the present invention expands the skin to the maximum extent without rupturing the skin based on measurements of elasticity of the skin to find the maximum expanded area reachable just before rupturing of the skin.

Abstract: The systems and methods disclosed herein are generally related to a cell culture system. More particularly, the systems and methods enable the culturing and interconnecting of a plurality of tissue types in a biomimetic environment. By culturing organ specific tissue types within a biomimetic environment and interconnecting each of the organ systems in a physiologically meaningful way, experiments can be conducted on in vitro cells that substantially mimic the responses of in vivo cell populations. In some implementations, the system is used to monitor how organ systems respond to agents such as toxins or medications. The system enables the precise and controlled delivery of these agents, which, in some implementations, enables the biomimetic dosing of drugs in humans to be mimicked.
