The present invention is to process a request of an application layer in an electronic device, and a method for operating the electronic device comprises transmitting a request signal through a first interface, and, when a response signal corresponding to the request signal is not received before a timer expires, retransmitting another request signal through a second interface. The request signal and the another request signal correspond to a single request signal generated in the electronic device. Also, the present invention includes other embodiments than the described embodiments.

A method and mobile station in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes determining whether there is a packet that is at least one of transmitted and received for each of time intervals, determining a traffic status of at least one of transmission and reception based on a result of the determining of whether there is the packet that is the at least one of transmitted and received for each of the time intervals, and determining the internet connection status based on the determined traffic status of the at least on transmission and reception.

In a wireless communication system, a mobile terminal providing a web service receives information about a web page for a web service from a mobile terminal, receives at least one embedded object included in the web page from a web server, sets a Discontinuous Reception (DRX) interval for the mobile terminal based on a size of the at least one embedded object, transmits information about the set DRX interval to the mobile terminal, and transmits the at least one embedded object to the mobile terminal at a time the set DRX interval ends.

In the present invention, a base station determines from a communication system whether a first content, which is requested by a mobile terminal, is saved on a cache memory, attributes a predetermined priority ranking to the first content and saves same on the cache memory when the first content is not saved on the cache memory, and updates the priority ranking of the first content on the basis of a predicted popularity of the first content, wherein the predicted popularity is decided on the basis of change in the number of views of a content that corresponds to a category of the first content.

A method for estimating a battery consumption state of a mobile communication terminal is provided. The method includes building a database with battery characteristic information changing according to at least one of a temperature and an aging characteristic of a battery supplying power to the mobile communication terminal, and estimating a power consumption of the mobile communication terminal and a battery drain rate based on the battery characteristic information and displaying estimated information.

The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the above technologies, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. A method for scheduling a packet in a communication node in a communication system is provided. The method includes detecting a parameter value of a parameter related to a delay characteristic that is related to at least one packet; comparing the detected parameter value and a preset threshold parameter value; determining a priority for the at least one packet based on the compared result; and transmitting the at least one packet corresponding to the determined priority.
