Abstract: The present disclosure enables the assignment of multiple semi-persistent resource assignments at the same time for use in V2V communications. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be a UE (e.g., a vehicle). The UE may determine at least one resource pattern required for V2V communications. The UE may also send assistance information for the at least one resource pattern to a base station. Further, the UE may receive, from the base station, a response associated with the at least one resource pattern. In an aspect, the response may include an index of approved resource patterns. Further still, the UE may receive, from the base station, an activation grant for a resource assignment for the at least one resource pattern. In an aspect, activation grant may include the index of approved resource patterns being activated.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods for transmitting, by a user equipment (UE) channel state information (CSI) feedback when the UE is capable of an advanced function, for example, when the UE is capable of successive interference cancellation (SIC) and/or joint decoding. An exemplary method generally includes determining a first time scale for transmitting capability information regarding receiver performance at the UE, determining a second time scale for transmitting channel condition information, and transmitting the capability information according to the determined first time scale and the channel condition information according to the determined second time scale.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication at a UE. In accordance with the present disclosure, a number of user devices in a network may be divided into a plurality of service groups based in part on priority levels associated with each group. In some examples, a network may distribute a plurality of resource pools to each of the above-assigned groups. Thus, for proximity based service (ProSe) communication, user devices within each group may select resource pools corresponding to the priority levels of the groups associated with the user device. Thus, in accordance with the present disclosure, division of resources based on priority levels of groups and UEs may ensure greater reliability of access to resources for high priority communication.

Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be a wireless communication user equipment (UE). The apparatus transmits information in a device-to-device (D2D) communication to a second UE, the information indicating whether the second UE should use a direct feedback path to the UE or an indirect feedback path to the UE. The apparatus receives feedback through one of the direct feedback path or the indirect feedback path based on the information indicated in the D2D communication. The apparatus receives a D2D communication from a second UE. The apparatus determines whether to transmit feedback in response to the D2D communication via a direct feedback path to the second UE or via an indirect feedback path to the second UE. The apparatus transmits the feedback in response to the D2D communication in the determined feedback path.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for direct device-to-device (D2D) communications in a subframe on a channel in an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band. A user equipment (UE) may perform a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure on the channel in the unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band. The UE may identify a time period between a completion of the LBT procedure and a boundary of a second subframe. The UE may transmit a Wi-Fi preamble and a variable length message on the channel during the identified timer period. The variable length message may include a duration that is time aligned with the boundary of the second subframe.

Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus of a device-to-device (D2D) link receives from a base station an indication of an acceptable level of interference that the base station can tolerate on an uplink resource. The uplink resource is allocated to a user equipment (UE) for a wide area network (WAN) transmission. The acceptable level of interference is a level of interference that the base station can tolerate on the uplink resource while the base station receives the WAN transmission from the UE. The apparatus determines a level of interference to the UE's transmission at the base station and performs a D2D communication on the uplink resource allocated to the second UE for the WAN transmission if the determined level of interference is less than the acceptable level.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for determining a monitoring schedule for device-to-device (D2D) synchronization signals. A synchronization cycle may be determined that includes a plurality of monitoring periods. The monitoring periods may be a time between at least two start times of sequential D2D synchronization signals to detect at least one of the D2D synchronization signals. Sub-monitoring periods may be determined based on the duration of the monitoring periods. The sub-monitoring periods may have a cumulative duration the same as the duration of the monitoring period and be scheduled to occur during different monitoring periods of the synchronization cycle.

A first wireless device may identify a wireless relay requirement associated with the first wireless device. A proximity service protocol may be initiated between the first wireless device and a second wireless device based at least in part on the identified wireless relay requirement. The proximity service protocol may be initiated prior to an initiation of a communication data exchange between the first wireless device and the second wireless device. A relay link may be established, via the ProSe protocol, between the first wireless device and the second wireless device based at least in part on the identified wireless relay requirement.
