    摘要: A process and a plant in which gaseous oxygen is produced directly at the desired high pressure by pumping liquid oxygen drawn off in the vessel of the low-pressure column (11). The air to be distilled is split into three flows: a flow at the medium pressure of the double distillation column (1), a flow at a high pressure, higher than approximately 60 bars, and a flow at an intermediate pressure which, after partial cooling, is expanded to the medium pressure in a turbine (8). The intermediate pressure is chosen so that the air treated in the turbine is near its dew point at the entry of the turbine wheel. Liquid product is simultaneously drawn off (at 24) from the plant.

    摘要: A process and apparatus for the liquefaction of hydrogen, of the type using a refrigeration cycle whose cycle fluid comprises mostly hydrogen, and a closed liquid nitrogen refrigeration cycle. The cycle fluid is hydrogen and a mixture of C.sub.2 + hydrocarbons. The hydrocarbons are liquefied and expanded to form fluids which vaporize in a substantially continuous manner between a temperature of the order of -120.degree. C. and a temperature adjacent ambient temperature. More particularly, the mixture of hydrocarbons is saturated C.sub.2, C.sub.3, and C.sub.5 hydrocarbons, and if desired C.sub.4, and separated liquefied fractions of these hydrocarbons are expanded at respective temperatures before expansion of the order of 0.degree. C. to -10.degree. C., -40.degree. C. to -50.degree. C. and -110.degree. C. to -120.degree. C., to form refrigerant liquids adapted to be vaporized.

    摘要: Each ozonization loop (1) which includes a compressor (2), an ozonizer (3), and a heat exchanger (8) for cooling the oxygen-ozone mixture, is associated with three cylinders (4,5,6) filled with silica gel. Each cylinder operates in succession in a cocurrent adsorption, in countercurrent desorption by a substitution gas, and in scavenging by taking off a part of the flow circulating in the loop. The scavenging flow is recovered and combined with the substitution gas. The substitution gas may be in particular impure nitrogen supplied by an air distillation apparatus producing the necessary oxygen.

    摘要: The rich liquid received at the base of the main column (3) at high pressure is expanded in two stages. After the first expansion to medium pressure, it is distilled so as to produce an addition of pure nitrogen. The second expansion achieves the reflux in the medium pressure column (4). Liquid nitrogen is pumped from this column to the high pressure column (3) and all the nitrogen can be produced at high pressure.

    摘要: This invention relates to the gasification of coal. An oxygen jet having a pointed flame is engendered in situ, so as to strike the coal with a sheath of steam. The resultant fuel gas is drawn off while flowing in counterflow with the jet of oxygen and is brought to the surface through the same bore which had served the purpose of supplying oxygen. The invention is particularly applicable to the underground gasification of coal in situ.

    摘要: An air separation process of the "pumped" type, in which liquid oxygen is removed from a double distillation column and is pumped to a higher production pressure and then vaporized under that pressure. The incoming air is divided into several streams. A first stream is compressed to the medium pressure, cooled and sent to the double distillation column (7). A second stream is compressed above about 25 bars, but below its condensation pressure during vaporization of the liquid oxygen under pressure, then cooled to an intermediate temperature, at which a portion of the air continues its cooling and is liquified (in 20A), then expanded (in 21A) and sent to the double column, while the rest is work expanded (in 4). Use in large size installations for the production of oxygen.
