Abstract:
Enabling handling of incoming phone calls includes receiving an indication from one or more call recipients reflecting a desire to block future calls from a call source. A number of received indications reflecting a desire to block future calls from the call source is determined and compared to a threshold. An identifier of the call source is added to a list of call sources from which future calls are specially handled when the number of indications meets the threshold. Handling an incoming call from an undesired call source includes receiving an indication of a call placed to a call recipient. A source of the call is identified. Whether the identified call source is included in the list of call sources from which future calls are specially handled is determined. Special handling is applied to the call when the identified call source is included in the list.
Abstract:
An integrated circuit transistor is fabricated with a trench gate having nonconductive sidewalls. The transistor is surrounded by an isolation trench filled with a nonconductive material. The sidewalls of the gate trench are formed of the nonconductive material and are substantially free of unetched substrate material. As a result, the sidewalls of the gate trench do not form an undesired conductive path between the source and the drain of the transistor, thereby advantageously reducing the amount of parasitic current that flows between the source and drain during operation.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a port channel manager for receiving information identifying switches connected to a group of physical ports at a network device and creating subgroups each comprising the physical ports connected to one of the switches. The apparatus further includes a virtual interface agent for assigning a virtual interface connecting a virtual switch to a virtual machine, to one of the subgroups. Traffic received from the virtual machine on the virtual interface is transmitted to one of the switches on one of the physical ports in the assigned subgroup. A method for grouping ports for association with virtual interfaces is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A catheter with a balloon anchor may be sized to fit through an inner needle and introduced into the patient through the needle. The inner needle may comprise an atraumatic needle with a side port and/or a blunt tip. The catheter may include a radiopaque coil disposed over the distal portion of the catheter body to assist with catheter placement when viewed with fluoroscopy and/or x-ray. The distal portion of the catheter can be very flexible. A balloon inflation tube may terminate proximal to a proximal end of the expandable balloon anchor such that the distal portion of catheter can be flexible. This termination of the inflation tube may also position the inflation tube away from the annulus and nerve roots, so as to avoid irritation of the annulus and rubbing of the nerve roots that may potentially obscure FAD test results.
Abstract:
An engine assembly may include an engine structure, a rocker arm assembly supported by the engine structure, a camshaft rotatably supported on the engine structure and engaged with the rocker arm assembly, and a valve member engaged with the rocker arm assembly. The rocker arm assembly may include a lever body having a first end engaged with the valve member and a second end defining a pivot point and having an opening therethrough, an arm assembly including a first end rotatably coupled to the first end of the lever body and a second end including a latch, and a locking mechanism located within the opening in the lever body and including a latch pin having a recess therein and a guide holder including a finger extending into the recess preventing rotation of the latch pin relative to the guide holder.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are described for triggering interrogation of RFID tags by an RFID system in different interrogation spaces in response to detection of the presence and/or motion of an object using a machine vision system. One embodiment of the invention includes an RFID exciter configured to communicate with a master controller, where the master controller is configured to control activation of the RFID exciter and a video camera connected to an application server, where the application server is configured to communicate with the master controller. In addition, the video camera is configured to provide a video sequence of a scene to the application server, the application server is configured to store information concerning a region of interest within the scene, the application server is configured to detect motion within the region of interest using the video sequence, the application server is configured to send a trigger message to the master controller in response to the detection of motion within the region of interest, and the master controller is configured to activate the RFID exciter in response to receipt of a trigger message from the application server.
Abstract:
A heat exchanger comprises a casing defining a chamber for liquid, an internal spacer inside the chamber and means for detecting the presence of the spacer. The detecting means may comprise an aperture in the casing to receive a projection on the spacer so that the projection can be seen.
Abstract:
An endotracheal tube has oppositely disposed proximal and distal ends fluidly connected by a ventilation lumen. An apparatus for intubating an airway of a patient with an endotracheal tube includes a housing and a motive mechanism supported by the housing and providing a user interface structure. A tube coupler is supported by the housing and is adapted for motion relative to the housing. The tube coupler is operatively coupled to the motive mechanism and is connectable to the proximal end of the endotracheal tube. A stylet coupler is supported by the housing and is adapted for motion relative to the housing. The stylet coupler is operatively coupled to the motive mechanism and is connectable to a proximal end of an intubation stylet. The motive mechanism is, operable to move the tube coupler in a first direction relative to the housing and to substantially simultaneously move the stylet coupler in a second direction relative to the housing in response to actuation of the user interface structure. A method of intubating an airway of a patient with an endotracheal tube is also described.
Abstract:
Data processing systems with interrupts and methods for operating such data processing systems and machine readable media for causing such methods and containing executable program instructions. In one embodiment, an exemplary data processing system includes a processing system, an interrupt controller coupled to the processing system and a timer circuit which is coupled to the interrupt controller. The interrupt controller is configured to provide a first interrupt signal and a second interrupt signal to the processing system. The processing system is configured to maintain a data structure (such as, e.g., a list) of time-related events for a plurality of processes, and the processing system is configured to cause the entry of a value, representing a period of time, into the timer circuit. The timer circuit is configured to cause an assertion of the first interrupt signal in response to an expiration of the time period.
