Abstract: Aspects relate to mechanisms for forming a network coding group for coordinated sidelink network coding. Two or more wireless communication devices may exchange sidelink messages with one another to form the network coding group. For example, the sidelink messages may indicate a respective capability of each of the wireless communication devices to support sidelink network coding. A first wireless communication device within the network coding group may then transmit a network coded sidelink transmission including transport blocks associated with at least a first sidelink transmission and a second sidelink transmission to at least a second wireless communication device in the network coding group. The second wireless communication device is an intended recipient of at least one of the first or second sidelink transmission.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques, methods, devices, systems, and non-transitory computer readable medium for generating codebooks for reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) s. For example, a RIS controller generates a codebook for a RIS by computing weights using a discrete Fourier transform (DFT) function or a fractional Fourier transform (FrFT) function, based on reference signals (RSs) transmitted by a transmitter. The weights correspond to the RIS elements or a subset of the RIS elements. In some aspects, the computation of the weights may include oversampling factors that allow for a higher resolution of the weights and improved search for an optimal precoding setting. Different sets of weights may be used for different incoming beams. The RIS controller may be trained with a pair of transmitter and a receiver to identify/generate the codebook for an optimized set of weights under specific situations.

The base station may transmit an indication of the antenna group that the UE is to use for measuring and reporting CSI. Based on the received indication, the UE may measure a reference signal transmitted by the base station and received at the UE using one or more antennas of the antenna group in accordance with the indication. The UE may transmit, to the base station, a CSI report that is based on the measuring of the reference signal using the one or more antennas of the antenna group.
