Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for determining support for one or more modulation orders to use for the transmission of control channel(s) and data channel(s). In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) determines, based on at least three modulation and coding scheme (MCS) tables, a first modulation scheme to use for communications with a wireless device for a first subset of subframes, and a second modulation scheme to use for communications with the wireless device for a second subset of subframes. Each of the three MCS tables is associated with a different maximum modulation order. The UE monitors for a data channel transmitted in the first subset of subframes using the first modulation scheme. The UE monitors for a data channel transmitted in the second subset of subframes using the second modulation scheme.
Abstract:
The described aspects include methods and apparatus providing MTC in a wireless network. In an aspect, a narrow bandwidth within a wide system bandwidth is allocated for communicating data related to MTC. MTC control data generated for communicating over one or more MTC control channels for an MTC UE within the narrow bandwidth is transmitted over the one or more MTC control channels. The one or more MTC channels are multiplexed with one or more legacy channels over the wide system bandwidth. Other aspects are provided for transmission mode and content of the MTC control data or other MTC data.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for design of synchronization signals for narrowband operation, which can be used for stand-alone/in-band/guard-band deployment. An example method is provided for operations which may be performed by a base station (BS). The example method generally includes generating a primary synchronization signal (PSS) utilizing a first code sequence and a cover code applied to the first code sequence over a first number of symbols within one or more subframes, generating a secondary synchronization signal (SSS) based on a second code sequence over a second number of symbols within one or more subframes, and transmitting the PSS and the SSS in the first and second subframes to a first type of a user equipment (UE) that communicates on one or more narrowband regions of wider system bandwidth.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques for assigning resources for low cost user equipments (UEs). A method for wireless communications by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method generally includes determining a first bandwidth, within a second bandwidth, for resources available for downlink data transmissions, wherein the first bandwidth is greater than the second bandwidth, determining a third bandwidth for resources available for uplink transmissions, wherein a bandwidth for resources available for uplink transmissions is different than the bandwidth for resources available for downlink transmissions, wherein the third bandwidth is greater than the first bandwidth, and communicating with a network using the determined downlink and uplink resources.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques that may be utilized in networks with base stations and/or mobile devices that use large number of antennas or mutli-dimensional arrays of antennas.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques for cross-carrier indication of TDD (Time Division Duplex) UL (Uplink)/DL (Downlink) subframe configuration. A UE may receive a configuration of a first index for a first cell, wherein the first index is mapped to a first position in a Downlink Control Information (DCI) message. The UE may receive the DCI message in a subframe and determine an indication of a UL/DL subframe configuration for the first cell based on the first index and the DCI message. The UE may communicate with the first cell based on the determined UL/DL subframe configuration for the first cell.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for wireless communications by a user equipment (UE). An exemplary method, performed by a UE, generally includes receiving a physical broadcast channel (PBCH), and determining, based on a first one or more bits in the PBCH, whether a second one or more bits in the PBCH are used to indicate control information for communications related to a first type of applications or a second type of applications.
Abstract:
In the present disclosure, CSI and/or a plurality of ACK/NACKs related to a group of DL data transmissions may be buffered at the UE as a GACK until a DCI trigger is received from the eNB. When the DCI trigger is received, the UE may transmit the CSI and/or GACK. In this way, HARQ feedback and/or CSI may be reliably communicated even if a CCA does not clear and/or UL subframes are unavailable. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. In an aspect, the apparatus may be a UE. The apparatus monitors one or more subframes for a DCI trigger. In a further aspect, the apparatus receives the DCI trigger in a subframe. In another aspect, the apparatus transmits UCI using a subsequent subframe.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus receives, by a user equipment (UE) during a first subframe, an indication of a dynamic uplink/downlink (UL/DL) subframe configuration. The apparatus determines an uplink hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) timing based on an uplink reference subframe configuration and at least one of the dynamic UL/DL subframe configuration or a downlink reference subframe configuration. The apparatus selects an uplink subframe for communication based on the determined uplink HARQ timing.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus determines a first starting index for transmitting first control information in a first search space, determines a second starting index for transmitting second control information in a second search space, and transmits the second control information in the second search space at the second starting index when the first starting index and the second starting index are not the same value. The apparatus further transmits to a user equipment (UE) control information in a first search space, receives information from the UE corresponding to the transmitted control information, and decodes the received information based on the UE parsing the control information according to the first search space and based on the UE incorrectly parsing the control information according to a second search space.
