    Abstract: Some techniques described herein provide indication of a preferred scheduling mode for a user equipment (UE) based at least in part on an energy harvesting state of the UE. For example, the preferred scheduling mode may indicate a configured grant scheduling mode or a dynamic grant scheduling mode and/or one or more parameters associated with the preferred scheduling mode. For example, the one or more parameters may be based at least in part on an energy harvesting state of the UE. By indicating the preferred scheduling mode, the UE can selectively perform a transmission using a dynamic grant resource or a configured grant resource. Thus, the UE can request a dynamic grant resource when the UE is associated with a high energy level or a relatively fast charging rate, or a CG resource when the UE is associated with a low energy level ora relatively slow charging rate.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A first wireless device may transmit one or more signals to a second wireless device using an antenna panel including antenna elements that are arranged in a hexagonal configuration. The signals may be transmitted using one or more directional beams for multiple-input multiple-output communications with the second wireless device, the directional beams generated based on the antenna elements in the hexagonal configuration. The first wireless device may receive a signal from the second wireless device, and in some cases, the first wireless device may transmit one or more reference signals via the one or more directional beams, the reference signals associated with a set of two or more antenna elements of the antenna panel of the first wireless device. The second wireless device may perform measurements of the reference signals and transmit a measurement report to the first wireless device.

The described techniques provide for joint hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for sidelink transmissions and downlink transmissions. In some examples, a base station may transmit control signaling to a user equipment (UE) indicating a configuration for a joint HARQ codebook. The UE may receive a set of sidelink transmissions and a set of downlink transmissions, generate a joint HARQ codebook based on a downlink counter (e.g., a counter downlink assignment index) for the downlink transmissions and a sidelink counter (e.g., a counter sidelink assignment index) for the sidelink transmissions, where the downlink counter and the sidelink counter are jointly summed, and transmit feedback message to the base station for the downlink transmissions and the sidelink transmissions based on the joint HARQ codebook.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide a technique for parallel distribution matching (DM) encoding. A user equipment (UE) implements the technique to perform a first round of parallel DM encoding using k information bits as input by: 1) segmenting the k information bits into N blocks of information bits, and 2) encoding the N blocks of information bits in parallel with N DM blocks. Each of the N blocks outputs one or more encoded information bits in each of the NDM blocks, and a total number of information bits output by the N DM blocks is less than k. The UE then performs a second round of parallel DM encoding using k′ information bits that were not encoded in the first round of DM encoding. The second round of parallel DM encoding includes a same encoding process as implemented in the first round of parallel DC encoding.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for determining a transmit diversity across orbital angular momentum (OAM) modes are described. In some examples, a first device may select a subset of OAM modes for a transmit diversity scheme associated with communications between the first device and a second device. The first device may transmit an indication of the transmit diversity scheme, where the transmit diversity scheme may indicate the subset of OAM modes to the second device. The first device may then transmit signaling (e.g., a data packet, one or more signals, a data stream) to the second device using a set of transmitter circles of the first device. In response, the second device may transmit a feedback message, indicating signal strength measurements associated with one or more OAM modes. The first device may determine a set of OAM modes to use for subsequent signaling based on the feedback message.
