Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) transmits, to a network entity, a Long-Term Evolution (LTE) positioning protocol (LPP) capabilities message, the LPP capabilities message including one or more capability parameters indicating capabilities of the UE to engage in a positioning session with at least one network node, the positioning session comprising an impulse radio ultra-wideband (IR-UWB) ranging procedure between the UE and the at least one network node, receives, from the network entity, an LPP assistance data message, the LPP assistance data message including one or more assistance parameters configuring the UE to perform at least the IR-UWB ranging procedure, and performs at least the IR-UWB ranging procedure based at least on the one or more assistance parameters.

Abstract: Aspects presented herein may enable a UE to indicate a list of PRS resources in which the UE plans to measure in a given occasion to a base station. In one aspect, a UE determines an association between one or more reception properties of one or more PRS resources and one or more transmission properties of one or more SRS resources. The UE transmits, to at least one serving BS, information indicating the one or more PRS resources that the UE is configured to measure in a future measurement occasion. The UE measures PRSs received from one or more BSs on the one or more PRS resources based on the one or more reception properties. The UE transmits, to the one or more BSs after measuring the PRSs, SRSs on the one or more SRS resources based on the one or more transmission properties.

Abstract: In an aspect, a base station (BS) transmits, to a user equipment (UE), a downlink control information (DCI) communication that is configured to trigger transmission of an aperiodic (AP) sounding reference signal (SRS). The UE determines a slot offset from the DCI communication to an SRS resource set for the AP SRS based at least in part on an DCI codepoint (i.e., AP SRS resource trigger value) of the DCI communication. The UE transmits the AP SRS on the SRS resource set in accordance with the determined slot offset.

Abstract: Downlink and uplink Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) is performed using Reference Signal Time Difference (RSTD) measurements. The transmissions and measurements of positioning reference signals (PRS) are configured to mitigate or eliminate network synchronization errors which conventionally limit positioning accuracy of TDOA. The synchronization errors are mitigated using inter-base station PRS, and transmission of the PRS in response to receipt of the initial reference signal. For DL TDOA, a reference base station may transmit PRS to the user equipment (UE) and neighboring base station. In response, the neighboring base station transmits PRS to the UE. The RSTD may be determined as the difference in the time of reception of the PRS signals received at the UE after removal of the total delay for transmitting the PRS by the neighboring base station, including propagation time and processing time. The RSTD for UL TDOA may be determined in a similar manner.
