Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are disclosed herein. The UE may attempt to decode sidelink synchronization signals (SLSSs) received on component carriers (CCs) of a carrier aggregation. In one configuration, synchronization resources for SLSS transmissions may be aligned across the CCs at subframe boundaries in time, restricted to a portion of the CCs, and restricted to a same sub-frame. The UE may, for multiple CCs, determine a priority level for the CC based on indicators in the SLSSs received on the CC. The UE may select, from the CCs on which one or more SLSSs are decoded, the CC for which the determined priority level is highest. The UE may determine a reference timing for sidelink communication based on the one or more SLSSs received on the selected CC.

Abstract: The disclosure describes mechanisms for reliability enhancement on control channel and data channel and mechanisms in URLLC. An apparatus of a RAN node for URLLC includes baseband circuitry to configure at least one DCI for scheduling transmission of at least one PDSCH content having same information. For each DCI, the baseband circuitry determines a CORESET for transmitting the DCI. The disclosure further describes mechanisms for the support of low latency transmission in URLLC. To improve peak data rate and spectrum efficiency in FDD system, the RAN node configures a DCI for scheduling data transmission using blank resources of a self-contained slot structure. Further, CBG-based transmission with separate HARQ-ACK feedback is provided to configure a DCI for scheduling data transmission of a TB and to divide the TB into multiple CBGs, and to configure uplink control data to carry separate HARQ feedback for the CBGs.

Abstract: Systems and methods of reducing power consumption associated with paging or cDRX mode are described. A wake-up receiver (WUR) wakes up from an idle mode or cDRX state. Whether a wake-up signal (WUS) has been received by the WUR is determined. The WUS is a low-complexity signal that is less complicated than a PDCCH or PDSCH and is repeated multiple times at resource elements as indicated in a configuration from an eNB. If received, a baseband transceiver wakes up for reception of a PDCCH for the UE in a PO when the UE is in the idle mode or a PDSCH for the UE when the UE is in the cDRX state.

Abstract: Technology for a low mobility user equipment (UE) operable to perform uplink (UL) transmissions using configured grant (CG) physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) resources is disclosed. The UE can decode a CG PUSCH resource configuration from an eNodeB while the low mobility UE is in a radio resource control (RRC) connected state. The CG PUSCH resource configuration can indicate CG PUSCH resources for the low mobility UE after the low mobility UE transitions from the RRC connected state to an RRC idle state. The UE can transition from the RRC connected state to the RRC idle state. The UE can encode data packets for transmission over a PUSCH to the eNodeB using the CG PUSCH resources while the low mobility UE is in the RRC idle state.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can include processing circuitry configured to decode control information of a physical down-link control channel (PDCCH) received via a resource within a control resource set (CORESET) occupying a subset of a plurality of OFDM symbols within a slot. At least one of the symbols in the subset coincides with a pre-defined symbol location associated with a demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) of a PDSCH. The DM-RS can be detected within the slot, the DM-RS starting at a symbol location that is shifted from the pre-defined symbol location and following the subset of symbols. Downlink data scheduled by the PDCCH and received via the PDSCH can be decoded, where the decoding is based on the detected DM-RS.

Abstract: Provided herein are method and apparatus for channel coding in the fifth Generation (5G) New Radio (NR) system. An embodiment provides an apparatus for a Next Generation NodeB (gNB), including circuitry, which is configured to: generate Downlink Control Information (DCI) payload for a NR-Physical Downlink Control Channel (NR-PDCCH); attach Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) to the DCI payload; mask the CRC with an Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI) using a bitwise modulus 2 addition operation, wherein the number of bits for the RNTI is different from the number of bits for the CRC; and perform polar encoding for the DCI payload with the masked CRC.
