Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for recovering raw materials (i.e. of polyols and optionally additionally amines) from polyurethane foams, comprising chemolysis. The chemolysis is characterised in that a polyurethane foam is reacted with an alcohol and water in the presence of a catalyst at a temperature of between 130° C. and 195° C., the mass ratio of (total) alcohol and (total) water to the polyurethane foam [i.e. m(alcohol+water)/m(polyurethane foam), where “m”=mass] being between 0.5 and 2.5, and the mass of the water being between 4.0% and 10% of the mass of the alcohol. The catalyst comprises a metal salt selected from a carbonate, a hydrogen carbonate, an orthophosphate, a monohydrogen orthophosphate, a metaphosphate or a mixture of two or more of said metal salts.

Abstract: A vehicle windshield wiper blade comprising: a blade support portion; and a lip portion, wherein the lip portion has a tapered portion having a cross section that is taken along a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the wiper blade and that has a width that gradually decreases from a side closer to the blade support portion towards a direction farthest away from the blade support portion, the lip portion has a tip surface and first and second tapered surfaces constituting the tapered portion, and, in a specific observation region of the first and second tapered surfaces, the average value of the elastic modulus measured at a 0.1 μm pitch is 15-470 MPa and the coefficient of variation of the elastic modulus is at most 17.6%.

Abstract: Disclosed is an impact-resistant and aging-resistant reflective plastic applied to an automobile, which is prepared by copolymerizing of polyether polyol, 4,4,4-triphenylmethane triisocyanate and a benzimidazole derivative modified ZnS-mesoporous silica composite, the benzimidazole derivative modified ZnS-mesoporous silica composite is a ZnS-mesoporous silica composite modified by an anti-aging agent and a silane coupling agent KH-560, the ZnS-mesoporous silica is obtained by mixing an amphoteric surfactant, zinc chloride, and γ-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane uniformly, then reacting in ethyl orthosilicate, and calcining with hydrogen sulfide. In the present disclosure, by dispersing zinc sulfide in the pores of mesoporous carbon dioxide, chemical grafting 2-(2-hydroxy-5-aminophenyl)benzimidazole as a bridge onto isocyanate, and then polymerizing into polyurethane, which can improve the reflective performance and aging resistance of polyurethane, and improve the abrasion resistance and impact resistance.

Abstract: Golf balls having covers made of thermoplastic polyurethane compositions are provided. Multi-piece golf balls can be made. In one embodiment, the outer cover layer is formed from a composition comprising a thermoplastic polyurethane and polydimethylsiloxane compound. Functionalized polydimethylsiloxane compounds also can be used to treat thermoplastic polyurethane golf ball covers. The cover composition and surface coatings can further include catalysts, ultraviolet (UV)—light stabilizers, and other additives. The coating methods have many benefits and the finished balls with thermoplastic polyurethane covers have good physical properties.

Abstract: A reactive composition for making a PIR comprising foam at an isocyanate index of at least 120, said composition comprising at least an isocyanate composition comprising one or more isocyanate compounds, an isocyanate-reactive composition comprising one or more isocyanate-reactive compounds, at least one PIR promoting catalyst, at least one physical blowing agent with a lambda gas ≤12 mW/m·K at 10° C., at least one CO2 scavenging compound selected from at least one epoxy compound, and optionally a catalyst promoting epoxy reaction with CO2 characterized in that the amount of isocyanate-reactive compounds in the reactive composition is at least 10 wt % calculated on the total weight of the reactive composition, or at least more than the amount of epoxy compounds and the molar amount of epoxy compounds in the reactive composition is at least 7.8 times higher than the molar amount of CO2 formed by the water present in the reactive composition after reaction with isocyanates.
