    摘要: A system is provided that includes a security system that protects a secured area, a passive infrared (PIR) detector of the security system that detects intruders within the secured area, a pyroelectric element carried by the PIR detector, the pyroelectric element being tilted downwards towards a floor within the secured area to receive and detect a predominant portion of energy from an area extending outwards from the PIR detector and directly in front of the PIR detector and a relatively small portion of energy from a floor area directly below the PIR detector, and a pivoting door having first and second positions mounted below and directly adjacent the pyroelectric element, the door pivoting upwards to the first position where the relatively small portion of energy is blocked and pivoting downwards where the relatively small portion of energy is transmitted onto the pyroelectric element.

    摘要: The object detection device includes: a pyroelectric element configured to output a current signal in response to a change in an amount of infrared light; an I/V conversion circuit including an operational amplifier, a capacitive element serving as a feedback circuit, and a discharging circuit, and configured to convert the current signal to a voltage signal; an A/D conversion circuit configured to convert the voltage signal to a first digital signal; a digital filter configured to extract a detection component having a frequency included in a frequency band associated with an object from a waveform represented by the first digital signal by subjecting the first digital signal to an arithmetic processing, and create a second digital signal representing a waveform of the detection component; a judgment circuit configured to detect the target based on the second digital signal; and a control unit configured to control the discharging circuit based on a period corresponding to a predetermined frequency not greater than a lower limit of the frequency band to discharge electric charges stored in the capacitive element.

    摘要: A passive infrared intrusion detection device uses a dual element pyroelectric detector and a housing for surrounding and containing the dual element pyroelectric detector. The housing has a plurality of Fresnel lens elements for gathering infrared radiation from a "look down" volume of space and for focusing the gathered infrared radiation onto the pyroelectric detector. A mask positioned between the plurality of Fresnel lens elements and the detector partially occludes the gathered infrared radiation from the Fresnel lens elements to one of the elements of the dual element pyroelectric detector creating an imbalance in the signal thereby preventing common mode rejection.

    摘要: A passive infrared detection system embodies a new three-element, single-channel, pyroelectric detector. For a given amount of motion by a target in a region under surveillance, the detector provides more complex signature information than conventional two-element detectors, thereby allowing the target to be more readily distinguished from spurious environmental or background sources. Owing to the geometry of the detector electrodes, the false-alarming effects produced by spurious stimuli common to all detector elements are reduced. The detector is particularly adapted for use in infrared detection systems of the type which use pulse-counting techniques to distinguish targets of interest from non-targets.
