    Abstract: A piston-type fuel pump has two or more cylinder bores in a barrel. A piston in each cylinder bore has a port for admitting fuel into the cylinder bore. A swash plate assembly includes a wobble plate connected to each of the pistons. The wobble plate is given an oscillatory motion producing reciprocal movement of the pistons. A thin-walled metal bellows defines a closed interior space surrounding the pistons to prevent escape of fuel.

    Abstract: An electromagnetic pump is disclosed in which a pair of check valves and a pressure-regulating mechanism are inserted in series in a fluid passage extending from a suction inlet to a discharge outlet and a pressure chamber operatively connected with a plunger is provided between the check valves. When a solenoid coil surrounding the plunger is supplied with an intermittent electric current, the plunger moves to and fro, thereby the pressure in the pressure chamber being varied to have the check valves given rise to pumping action. The pressure-regulating mechanism function to control the pressure of fluid discharged from the outlet, thereby absorbing the pulsation generated by the reciprocal pumping action of the plunger.

    Abstract: A fuel supply pump includes a housing, a shaft in a case, a cam in the case formed eccentrically with respect to the shaft to rotate with the shaft, a tappet on an outer circumferential side of the cam movable in a vertical direction, and a plunger reciprocating with the tappet to pressurize fuel in a chamber. The tappet includes a roller and a supporting member rotatably supporting the roller in its thrust direction. The roller slidingly contacts outer circumference of the cam. The member includes an end face supporting the plunger, a surface at its end on an opposite side from the face and slidingly contacting outer circumference of the roller, and an inner wall supporting the roller in the thrust direction. The roller includes a middle section slidingly contacting the surface along its longitudinal direction, and a contact part at both ends of the section contacting the wall.
