    摘要: An abnormality diagnosis apparatus applied to an internal combustion engine, including a supercharger, a communication path, an opening/closing valve, and a downstream intake air temperature sensor and not having a cooling device on the upstream side of the downstream intake air temperature sensor and conducting abnormality diagnosis of the downstream intake air temperature sensor diagnoses that the downstream intake air temperature sensor is abnormal if an operation state of the internal combustion engine is a low load and a low rotation region and a detected value of the downstream intake air temperature sensor is at a predetermined high temperature or more and prohibits the subsequent abnormality diagnosis if the operation state of the internal combustion engine becomes a higher load or a higher rotation than the low load and low rotation region.

    摘要: A piston-cylinder arrangement for an internal combustion engine includes a first cylinder bore in an engine with a first piston disposed therein. A combustion chamber may be positioned between walls of the first cylinder bore and the first piston. A second cylinder bore in the engine block may be aligned with the first cylinder bore with a second piston disposed therein. A compression chamber may be positioned between walls of the second cylinder bore and the second piston. One or more supporting members may connect the first piston to the second piston for facilitating concurrent reciprocation of the first piston and the second piston within their respective cylinder bores during operation of the internal combustion engine. The first piston, the second piston, and the one or more supporting members may define a stacked piston arrangement.

    摘要: A supercharging device is provided for an internal combustion engine that has at least one exhaust gas turbocharger (1, 2) and at least one charge air cooler (LLK) arranged in the outflow of the exhaust gas turbocharger (1, 2). An additional electrically driven compressor (e-booster 6, 7) is arranged downstream of the charge air cooler (LLK) in a bypass (5) to the main flow line (3) to the throttle valve (4) of the internal combustion engine. The main flow line (3) can be closed by a check valve (9) that acts in the direction of a return flow.

    摘要: Systems and methods are provided for engine systems including a first multiple tap aspirator with a motive inlet coupled to an intake upstream of an air induction system throttle and a mixed flow outlet coupled to an intake manifold, and a second multiple tap aspirator with a motive inlet coupled to the intake upstream of a main throttle and a mixed flow outlet coupled to the intake downstream of the air induction system throttle. During non-boost conditions, intake air may be selectably diverted around a compressor and through the first and/or second aspirator based on desired vacuum generation. During boost conditions, the first and second aspirators may function as compressor bypass valves, and intake air may be selectably directed from downstream of the compressor to upstream of the compressor via the first and/or second aspirator based on a desired compressor bypass flow.

    摘要: A system and methods for routing condensate collected in a heat exchanger reservoir to either a combustion chamber of an engine or a position in the engine exhaust based on the type of contaminate in the condensate and operating parameters of the engine or the catalyst are described. In one particular example, the method includes accumulating a portion of compressed air in an accumulator, and when an engine output is below a predetermined amount, coupling a part of the accumulated air with the condensate through a passage into the combustion chamber. Thereby, the methods described may be used to distribute condensate formed in the heat exchanger even at low engine loads.

The system includes a supercharger inlet housing mounted at the upstream side of the supercharger main housing and a re-circulation line. The re-circulation line provides fluid communication between the downstream side of the supercharger main housing and the supercharger inlet housing. The line includes a flow diverter having first and second portions within the supercharger inlet housing. The first portion defines a first re-circulation flow direction and the second portion defines a second re-circulation flow direction. The second direction may be 45-135 degrees relative to the first recirculation direction.

A target throttle-valve upstream pressure is calculated based on a target charging efficiency and a rotation speed. An exhaust-gas flow rate is calculated based on an air/fuel ratio and an intake-airflow rate. A target compressor driving force is calculated based on a target intake-airflow rate and a target throttle-valve upstream pressure. A wastegate-valve control value is calculated from the exhaust-gas flow rate and the target compressor driving force by using the relationship in which the relation expression expressing the characteristics of the exhaust-gas flow rate and the target compressor driving force depends only on the wastegate-valve control value.
