摘要: An apparatus to measure noise in an image signal and a method thereof. The apparatus includes an area division unit to divide an image signal having noise therein into a plurality of areas and to output area information corresponding to the plurality of areas, a variance calculation unit to calculate variances of the plurality of areas using the area information, the image signal and a noise-attenuated image signal obtained by attenuating the noise from the image signal, and a noise determination unit to determine an amount of noise in the image signal by comparing the calculated variances of the plurality of areas. Accordingly, the noise measurement apparatus can measure the amount of noise irrespective of characteristics of the image signal, and thus noise attenuation can be performed more accurately.

摘要: A method and a mobile communication system for transmitting/receiving a multimedia message using a mobile communication terminal. Summarized data type information representing a kind of each of data types constituting a multimedia message, which is to be received by a network, and data type information summarizing the details of each of the data types are first transmitted to the receiving mobile terminal. This allows a receiving communication terminal to selectively receive data types of a multimedia message according to a selection of the receiving terminal's user.

摘要: A system and method for improving a function of reading information from a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag. The system includes RFID tags installed on a variety of objects, each RFID tag storing information of its associated object and upon detection of a signal based on an effective frequency range, transmitting the information; writers spaced apart at regular intervals and installed near the RFID tags, the writers writing an instruction of informing whether an area is one where it is possible to read the information from an RFID tag; and a terminal having a read-write tag in which the instruction by the writers is written at a time of entering the area where the RFID tags are installed, a terminal controller for determining a start or stop of the read function based on the instruction of the read-write tag, and an RFID reader for starting to read the information from the electronic tag based on the effective frequency range upon receipt of a start command from the terminal controller.

摘要: An example embodiments are structures and methods for forming an FET with embedded stressor S/D regions (e.g., SiGe), a doped layer below the embedded S/D region adjacent to the isolation regions, and a stressor liner over reduced spacers of the FET gate. An example method comprising the following. We provide a gate structure over a first region in a substrate. The gate structure is comprised of gate dielectric, a gate, and sidewall spacers. We provide isolation regions in the first region spaced from the gate structure; and a channel region in the substrate under the gate structure. We form S/D recesses in the first region in the substrate adjacent to the sidewall spacers. We form S/D stressor regions filling the S/D recesses. The S/D stressor regions can be thicker adjacent to the gate structure than adjacent to the isolation regions; We implant dopant ions into the S/D stressor regions and into the substrate below the S/D stressor regions adjacent to the isolation regions to form upper stressor doped regions.

摘要: An information recording medium that can be rapidly finalized, and a recording/reproducing apparatus and method using the same are provided. In the information recording medium, a prepit is pre-formed in a finalization area. Since the portion that has to be filled with data in finalizing the information recording medium is previously formed as the prepits series in manufacturing the information recording medium, the time necessary to finalize the information recording medium can be shortened, thereby achieving the rapid finalization of the medium.
