Abstract: A method, system, and apparatus for providing information related to a location or geographic region. When a string is entered into an application program, the string is analyzed to determine whether the string relates to one or more locations or geographic regions. If the string relates to a location or geographic region, the string is associated with additional information related to the location or geographic region. A list of actions may be provided, wherein each action allows for the selection of the additional information. In one embodiment, a geographical map, telephone area codes or time conversion information may be selected and displayed. In other embodiments, currency conversions related to a specific country may be selected and displayed.

Abstract: An exercise apparatus for supporting a pair of feet of a user while the user moves a body of the user alternately up and down a staircase with the user's hands includes the staircase with a pair of stirrups for supporting the pair of feet of the user. The pair of stirrups are slidably alternately up and down the staircase, enabling the user to move the user's body up and down the staircase using the user's hands. The user may also perform push-ups and other exercises while supporting the user's feet on the stirrups.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for growing photosynthetic organisms lacking Photosystem II (PSII) function using externally supplied electrons shuttled into the organism using redox mediators to improve photosynthetic output and to produce and recover chemicals of interest. By removing PRI, all PAR photons are funneled toward Photosystem I, thereby significantly increasing the theoretical photon utilization efficiency for CO2 fixation, energy storage and the capacity to synthesize valuable chemicals. Additional genetic modification can be performed to insert or enhance specific metabolic pathways to generate products of commercial interest.

Abstract: A performance analysis support system is disclosed that provides one or more recommended solutions of a performance improvement project to management and the expected improvement benefit of each solution. The performance analysis support system guides a user through a detailed, consistent analysis process, helping organizational leaders accurately diagnose critical performance or productivity issues. Then, the performance analysis support system estimates the personnel and equipment requirements, time, costs, and return on investment associated with each solution generated based on the analysis results. In addition, the performance analysis support system provides management immediate access to ongoing and past analyses.

Abstract: We disclose an apparatus and method for detecting probe-tip contact with a surface, generally inside a focused ion-beam instrument, where the probe tip is attached to a capsule, and the capsule is movably secured in a probe shaft. There is a fiber-optic cable having a first end and a second end; a beam splitter having first and second output ports; and a light source connected to the beam splitter. The first output port of the beam splitter is connected to the first end of the fiber-optic cable, and the second output port of the beam splitter is connected to a photodiode. The second end of the fiber-optic cable has a mirror for reflecting incident light at approximately a ninety-degree angle to the axis of the optical path in the fiber-optic cable and onto the capsule, so that the intensity of the light reflected back from the capsule through the fiber-optic cable is proportional to the deflection of the capsule as the probe tip makes contact with the surface.

Abstract: An enclosure constructed of vinyl foam filled blow-molded panels. These panels are structured with tongue and groove connections built in to provide quick interlock one to another without the need for tools in assembly or disassembly. The construction characteristics provide panels that are rigid, strong, insulated, sound deadened with high flotation qualities. The enclosure is transportable by towing the assembled structure on a built-in sled bottom or dissembling the panels, stacking them and transporting them in a vehicle.
