Abstract: Network parameter adaptation in a wireless communication system. A method for a user equipment (UE) includes receiving first information related to operation states on a cell and second information related to a search space set to receive physical downlink control channels (PDCCHs). A first operation state from the operation states includes first parameters associated with transmissions of channels or signals on the cell in one or more of a power, spatial, time, or frequency domain. A PDCCH from the PDCCHs provides a downlink control information (DCI) format that indicates one or more of the operation states. The method further includes receiving the PDCCH; determining the parameters in the one or more of the power, spatial, time, or frequency domain based on the one or more operation states indicated by the DCI format; and receiving the channels or signals on the cell based on the parameters.

The method and apparatus comprise: receiving a set of higher layer parameters including configuration information for sidelink synchronization signals and physical sidelink broadcast channel (S-SS/PSBCH) block; determining, based on the configuration information for the S-SS/PSBCH block, a number of transmitted S-SS/PSBCH blocks (NSSB), an offset for transmitted S-SS/PSBCH blocks (OSSB), and an interval for transmitted S-SS/PSBCH blocks (DSSB); and determining a set of slots containing the transmitted S-SS/PSBCH blocks within a period for a transmission of the S-SS/PSBCH block, wherein an index of a slot in the set of slots is determined based on OSSB+ISSB*DSSB, where ISSB is an index of the S-SS/PSBCH block with 0≤ISSB≤NSSB−1.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for contention window adjustment on a sidelink (SL) in a wireless communication system. A method of a user equipment (UE) includes determining whether hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback is available after a last update of a contention window size (CW); determining a set of HARQ feedback corresponding to physical sidelink shared channels (PSSCHs) in a reference duration when the at least one HARQ feedback is determined as available; and determining a first condition based on the set of HARQ feedback. The method further includes determining to: reset the CW to a minimum allowed value when the first condition is satisfied or increase the CW to a next higher allowed value when the first condition is not. The method further includes performing a SL channel access procedure based on the CW and performing a SL transmission over a channel after successfully performing the SL channel access procedure.

The BS comprises a processor configured to determine frequency units within a frequency range for a bandwidth of an operating carrier, wherein a listen-before-talk (LBT) operation is performed over each of the frequency units; and determine, for each of the frequency units, a set of intended spatial transmit (TX) parameters and a set of spatial receiver (RX) parameters of the LBT operation; and determine a subset of the frequency units for a downlink transmission based on the LBT operation performed over each of the frequency units; and a transceiver operably connected to processor, which is configured to transmit, to a user equipment (UE), downlink channels using the bandwidth corresponding to the determined subset of the frequency units.
