Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus select a code book based on channel conditions and performance of a demodulator or demapper in a wireless receiver. The method may include determining that the receiver in a first wireless communication apparatus is configured for iteratively processing signals received from a channel, selecting a code book for use in communicating over the channel based on conditions affecting transmission of the signals through the channel and performance information associated with a demapper in the receiver, and identifying the selected code book in one or more control channels transmitted to a second wireless communication apparatus.

Abstract: A new radio (NR) bit prioritization procedure that may be executed by a UE and a base station is disclosed, resulting in transmission and reception of modulation symbols having prioritized bits. For example, a transmitter may encode a code block using low-density parity-check code to generate a stream of encoded bits. The transmitter may arrange the encoded bits in one or more modulation symbols according to a relative priority of the encoded bits. The highest priority bits may be located in the most significant bits of the modulation symbol, and therefore be less likely to experience errors. A receiver may receive the modulation symbols and reorder the encoded bits according to the coding scheme based on the relative priority prior to decoding the encoded bits. The prioritization of the bits within the modulation symbols may provide improved block error rates over sequential mapping of encoded bits to symbols.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) receives physical downlink control channels from transmission and reception points (TRPs). The physical downlink control channels may be jointly decoded to facilitate joint demodulation of physical shared channels. The UE receives a first downlink control information (DCI) over a first downlink control channel associated with a first TRP and a second DCI over a second downlink control channel associated with a second TRP. The first downlink control channel overlaps in time with the second downlink control channel. The first DCI schedules a first downlink shared channel associated with the first TRP and the second DCI schedules a second downlink shared channel associated with the second TRP. The UE receives the first downlink shared channel and the second downlink shared channel that overlap in time. The UE performs joint demodulation of the first and second downlink shared channels.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and devices for wireless communication including an apparatus, e.g., a UE and/or a base station. The apparatus may measure a RSRP of a CRS for each of a plurality of neighboring cells. The apparatus may also calculate an interference strength of each of the plurality of neighboring cells based on the RSRP measurement of the CRS for each of the plurality of neighboring cells. Additionally, the apparatus may compare a PDSCH demodulation performance of the UE based on rate matching for a CRS offset associated with each of the plurality of neighboring cells with the PDSCH demodulation performance of the UE based on skipping the rate matching for the CRS offset. The apparatus may also transmit a request for the rate matching or skipping the rate matching for the CRS offset based on the comparison of the PDSCH demodulation performance of the UE.

Abstract: An apparatus for wireless communication is provided. The apparatus may be a receiver device that includes an error correction decoder, such as a low-density parity check (LDPC) decoder. The apparatus may achieve power savings and/or operation cycle savings by disabling the error correction decoder in scenarios where bits of a codeword in a signal transmission are received without errors. The apparatus obtains a first set of bits of a codeword, wherein the codeword includes the first set of bits and a second set of bits, and wherein the second set of bits is punctured. The apparatus recovers the second set of bits based on at least the first set of bits and determines whether to operate an error correction decoder based on a result of an error detection operation performed on the codeword using the first set of bits and the second set of bits.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described Techniques described may be utilized to avoid errors caused by resource allocation calculations, which may be indicated via higher layer signaling and/or determined within DCI. A base station may transmit downlink control information indicating resource allocation types to avoid errors. In other cases, the UE and/or base station may designate a particular resource block group size to avoid the potential errors. The UE and/or base station may calculate a number of resource blocks groups for a bandwidth part and allocate the size of the resource block group based on the calculation. The UE and/or base station may conduct a comparison between a bandwidth part size and a resource block group size to determine whether to designate a different resource block group size to avoid the errors. Similar techniques may be utilized in allocating resources for precoding resource block groups.

A user equipment (UE) determine that at least one packet of a set of packets for a downlink message is unsuccessfully received at a radio link control (RLC) layer of the UE due to a specific situation of a set of specific situations and may transmit the NACK message based on the missing packet (s) on an as needed basis rather than waiting for a timer to expire (e.g., a fast NACK mechanism). In some examples, the specific situations may include the UE missing packets after a measurement gap, missing packets based on wake up latencies for a discontinuous reception mode of the UE, missing packets due to interference from reference signals transmitted by neighboring cells, missing packets due to the UE not decoding retransmissions that have a same redundancy version (RV) of a downlink message, or a combination thereof.
