A method for cracking hydrocarbon, comprises: providing steam and hydrocarbon; and feeding steam and hydrocarbon into a reactor accessible to hydrocarbon and comprising a perovskite material of formula AaBbCcDdO3-δ, wherein 0
Abstract:
Methods of fabricating coated components using multiple types of fillers are provided. One method comprises forming one or more grooves in an outer surface of a substrate. Each groove has a base and extends at least partially along the outer surface of the substrate. The method further includes disposing a sacrificial filler within the groove(s), disposing a permanent filler over the sacrificial filler, disposing a coating over at least a portion of the substrate and over the permanent filler, and removing the first sacrificial filler from the groove(s), to define one or more channels for cooling the component. A component with a permanent filler is also provided.
Abstract:
A hydrocarbon fluid containment article having a wall with a surface that is wetted by hydrocarbon fluid. The surface includes an anti-coking coating. The anti-coking coating includes a copper salt, a silver salt, or a combination thereof. A gas turbine engine component including a wall having a first surface and an anti-coking coating on the first surface of the wall that is wetted by hydrocarbon fluid. The anti-coking coating including a copper salt, a silver salt, or a combination thereof that prevents the formation of gum or coke on a surface thereon. Methods for reducing the deposition of thermal decomposition products on a wall of an article are also provided.
Abstract:
Methods for reducing a concentration of hexavalent chromium within a first aluminum slurry by adding a reducing agent to form a second aluminum slurry are provided. The reducing agent causes a chemical reduction reaction with the hexavalent chromium compound of the first aluminum slurry to form a trivalent chromium compound within the second aluminum slurry such that a first weight ratio of hexavalent chromium to trivalent chromium in the first aluminum slurry is decreased to a second weight ratio of hexavalent chromium to trivalent chromium in the second aluminum slurry, with the second weight ratio being less than the first weight ratio.
Abstract:
A system for removing heat from an aircraft component includes: a heat exchanger in proximity to an aircraft component and having an inlet, an outlet, and an internal surface coated with a catalyst; a source of hydrocarbon fuel in fluid communication with the inlet of the heat exchanger; a source of oxygen in fluid communication with the inlet of the heat exchanger; and a distribution system. A method of removing heat from an aircraft component includes providing a heat exchanger in proximity to an aircraft component, the heat exchanger being in fluid communication with a source of hydrocarbon fuel and a source of water and having an internal surface coated with a catalyst; introducing a hydrocarbon fuel into the heat exchanger; introducing oxygen into the heat exchanger; contacting the hydrocarbon fuel with the catalyst; and cracking the hydrocarbon fuel.
Abstract:
A gas turbine engine includes; a compressor, a combustor, and a turbine in serial flow relationship; a heat exchanger, the heat exchanger having an inlet, an outlet, and an internal surface coated with a catalyst, the heat exchanger being located upstream of the compressor; a source of hydrocarbon fuel in fluid communication with the inlet of the heat exchanger; a source of oxygen in fluid communication with the inlet of the heat exchanger; and a distribution system for receiving reformed hydrocarbon fuel from the heat exchanger.
