Abstract: A user equipment (UE) configured to receive a first cumulative acknowledgement (ACK) from a protocol stack of the UE at a first time, store the first cumulative ACK in a queue, receive a second cumulative ACK from the protocol stack at a second time, wherein the second time occurs after the first time, store the second cumulative ACK in the queue, discard the first cumulative ACK from the queue based on the second cumulative ACK being received after the first cumulative ACK and encapsulate the second cumulative ACK to form a radio link control (RLC) packet data unit (PDU) that is to be transmitted over the air.

Abstract: Systems and methods of providing uplink in-order packet delivery of a QoS flow offloaded in a 5G network are described. An uplink forwarding tunnel is established between a source and target node after a determination is made to offload a QoS flow of a UE to the target node. The source node receives a SDAP PDU from the UE that contains an end marker and, in response, sends a GTP-U end marker packet to the target node via the uplink forwarding tunnel. The target node buffer packets associated with the QoS flow received from the UE after establishment of the uplink forwarding tunnel until the GTP-U end marker packet is received from the target node via the uplink forwarding tunnel and, in response, sends the buffered packets to the 5GC.

The apparatus can include a memory to store the RRC resume request at the gNB and the UE context request at the last serving gNB.

Abstract: Provided herein is an apparatus and a method for congestion handling in RAN. The disclosure provides an apparatus for a relay node in a RAN including the relay node and a donor node providing an interface to a core network and a backhaul link to the relay node. The apparatus includes a RF interface to receive and transmit downlink data for one or more UEs or UE bearers; and a processing circuitry coupled with the RF interface. The processing circuitry is to determine a downlink congestion occurs at the relay node; and generate a downlink congestion indication to identify a UE or a UE bearer or a backhaul RLC channel affected by the downlink congestion. The RF interface is to transmit the downlink congestion indication to the donor node. In addition to the downlink congestion handling, the relay node can also be to handle uplink congestion in a similar way.

Abstract: An apparatus of a next generation NodeB (gNB) comprises one or more baseband processors to interconnect a gNB Central Unit control-plane entity (gNB-CU-CP) with a gNB Central Unit user-plane entity (gNB-CU-UP) via an E1 control plane interface and a gNB Distributed Unit (gNB-DU) via an F1 control plane interface. Rather than relying on multiple class-1 procedures initiated by gNB-CU-CP toward gNB-CU-UP and gNB-DU, the one or more baseband processors are configured to establish or modify a bearer context and to communicate data transport tunneling and/or packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) preservation status information for a specific user equipment (UE), utilizing the direct F1 user plane interface between gNB-DU and gNB-CU-UP to avoid relaying delay. The gNB can include a memory to store the bearer context and data transport tunneling information.

Abstract: Embodiments of a generation Node-B (gNB), User Equipment (UE) and methods to configure measurement gaps are generally described herein. A serving cell gNB may transmit, to a neighbor cell gNB, a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) status request message and may receive, from the neighbor cell gNB 105, a CSI-RS status update message. The serving cell gNB may determine, based on timing information in the CSI-RS status update message, a measurement gap to be reserved for transmission of CSI-RS from the neighbor cell gNB to a UE that is served by the serving cell gNB. The serving cell gNB may transmit, to the UE, control signaling that indicates the measurement gap. The serving cell gNB may receive, from the UE, a measurement report that indicates a signal quality measurement based on the CSI-RS from the neighbor cell gNB.
