    Abstract: An apparatus of a next generation Node B (gNB) Distributed Unit (DU) comprises one or more baseband processors to transmit one or more retransmitted Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) Protocol Data Units (PDUs) received from a gNB Central Unit (CU) to a user equipment (UE), and to feed back not only a latest, in-sequence New Radio User-plane (NR-U) Sequence Number (SN) to the CU for Release 15, but also a highest, in-sequence successfully delivered/transmitted PDCP SN, optionally, with a NR-U SN up to which the reported PDCP SN should be applied, which can provide an exact range of successfully delivered/transmitted status for retransmitted packets even in case of DU's re-ordering based on PDCP SN before transmitting to the UE. The apparatus can include a memory to store the reported PDCP SN and NR-U SN.

    Abstract: Embodiments of an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) donor, IAB node, and methods of communication are generally described herein. An IAB network may comprise a plurality of IAB nodes to operate as relays between the IAB donor and one or more User Equipment (UE).     Abstract: Techniques to configure a user equipment (UE) for a multi-connectivity handover with a source base station (SBS) and a target base station (TBS) include encoding a measurement report for transmission to the SBS. The measurement report is triggered based on a measurement event configured by the SBS. Radio resource control (RRC) signaling from the SBS is decoded, the RRC signaling including a handover command in response to the measurement report. The handover command includes an indication for multi-connectivity support by the SBS and the TBS during the handover. A first protocol stack associated with the SBS and a second protocol stack associated with the TBS are configured at the UE. A packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) protocol data unit (PDU) received at the UE during the handover is processed using the first protocol stack or the second protocol stack.

A first node, such as a gNodeB or an eNodeB, can perform operations that include receiving a resume request from a user equipment (UE) that is in an inactive state, the resume request including a small data indication, where context information for the UE resides at a second node; transmitting a retrieve UE context request to the second node, the retrieve UE context request including the small data indication; receiving a UE context response from the second node; transmitting, by the first node, a resume response to the UE to cause the UE to switch to a connected state; processing uplink data from the UE; and transmitting a release message to the UE to cause the UE to switch to the inactive state. The release message can be based on RRC release information received from the second node.

    Abstract: Systems and methods of providing uplink in-order packet delivery of a QoS flow offloaded in a 5G network are described. An uplink forwarding tunnel is established between a source and target node after a determination is made to offload a QoS flow of a UE to the target node. The source node receives a SDAP PDU from the UE that contains an end marker and, in response, sends a GTP-U end marker packet to the target node via the uplink forwarding tunnel. The target node buffer packets associated with the QoS flow received from the UE after establishment of the uplink forwarding tunnel until the GTP-U end marker packet is received from the target node via the uplink forwarding tunnel and, in response, sends the buffered packets to the 5GC.

    Abstract: Provided herein is an apparatus and a method for congestion handling in RAN. The disclosure provides an apparatus for a relay node in a RAN including the relay node and a donor node providing an interface to a core network and a backhaul link to the relay node. The apparatus includes a RF interface to receive and transmit downlink data for one or more UEs or UE bearers; and a processing circuitry coupled with the RF interface. The processing circuitry is to determine a downlink congestion occurs at the relay node; and generate a downlink congestion indication to identify a UE or a UE bearer or a backhaul RLC channel affected by the downlink congestion. The RF interface is to transmit the downlink congestion indication to the donor node. In addition to the downlink congestion handling, the relay node can also be to handle uplink congestion in a similar way.
