摘要: A method of displaying an input signal (IV) on a full color LED display is discussed wherein the display has pixels (11) comprising at least four LED's (PLi) which respectively emit light with four primary colors. The method comprises converting (SC) the input signal (IV) into drive signals for the at least four LED's (PLi). The converting (SC) comprises: (i) determining (RD) valid ranges (VRi) of at least two of the drive signals (DSi) to obtain a color of the combined light emitted which fits the input signal (IV), (ii) determining (LD) a gradation or lifetime indication (LTi) of the at least two LED's (PLi) for associated ones of the drive signals (DSi) within the valid ranges (VRi), and (iii) determining (CD) a combination (DCi) of values of drive signals (DSi) providing substantially the minimum degradation, or the maximum lifetime, of a combination of the at least two LED's (PLi) based on the degradation or lifetime indications (LTi).

摘要: A display device (1) of the matrix type is addressed using partial line doubling, i.e. a method in which one or more sub-fields for pixels are doubled, meaning that the same data is used for a set of pixels. Adjacent pixels in a row are addressed using different grey level realizations by applying different combinations of subfields. Partial line doubling is performed on sets of adjacent pixels in a column that are addressed using the same grey level realization. Two different addressing schemes may be used by applying either the standard pattern A/B or the second pattern (n×1 A/B). When applying the latter pattern partial line doubling is performed in a line skipping fashion.

Actuators including conductive rods (4-111, 4-112) attached together may be used, such that each rod of the actuator (4-11) may increase or decrease in size when current is applied to that rod to cause the actuator to bend toward a specified direction. Also, an image display that includes ball bearings (1-10) whose rotation is controlled by driving magnets (1-21, 1-22) to cause an object to move is provided. Further, air holes (3-11) tilted in various directions to control object movement by air pressure may be provided. Moreover, rods (3-10) may be moved up or down as activated by driving magnets (2-20). The actuators, rods, ball bearing assemblies, or holes may provide touch sensitivity for the image display.

摘要: A color display device, a drive circuit for a color display device, a method, a signal and a computer-readable medium for reducing electro-optical cross talk that occurs in a display that is operated in Spectrum Sequential mode is disclosed. The invention eliminates annoying visible artefacts, such as contouring, noise, or color deviation, which normally are introduced by this cross talk by compensating for the cross talk. According to embodiments of the invention, a drive signal (R′,G′,B′) to drive picture elements of the display is altered in video processing circuitry (MPC, XTC, SC) and/or software, in dependence on one or more properties of different spectra from a light source (23, 24) in the display. The invention is implemented with little extra effort and cost in known LCD displays.
