Abstract: Various aspects of the disclosure relate to channel sensing for independent links. In some aspects, the independent links may involve a first device (e.g., a user equipment) communicating via different independent links with different devices (e.g., transmit receive points (TRPs) or sets of TRPs). For example, the first device may communicate with a second device (e.g., a first TRP) via a first link and communicate with a third device (e.g., a second TRP) via a second link. In some scenarios, first channel sensing information may be obtained for the first link and second channel sensing information may be obtained for the second link. In some aspects, a decision of whether to transmit via one or more of the links may be based on the channel sensing on one or more of the links. In some cases, the links may be grouped together as a channel sensing group.

Abstract: Techniques to support operation in a compressed mode and/or a continuous packet connectivity (CPC) mode are described. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) may obtain an assignment of enabled subframes for the CPC mode and an assignment of transmission gaps for the compressed mode. The transmission gaps may be aligned with idle times between the enabled subframes. The UE may exchange data during enabled subframes not overlapping the transmission gaps and may skip data exchanges during enabled subframes overlapping the transmission gaps. The UE may make cell measurements during the transmission gaps. In another aspect, the UE may obtain enabled subframes and skipped subframes, exchange data during enabled subframes not corresponding to the skipped subframes, and skip data exchanges during the skipped subframes. In yet another aspect, the UE may receive orders on a shared control channel to quickly enable and disable the compressed mode.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that may perform dual stage channel interleaving in which code blocks are interleaved at the code block level and at a symbol level. The interleaved code block data may provide time diversity for the code block data, and the interleaved symbol data may provide frequency diversity for the code block data, thus helping to mitigate narrowband and/or bursty interference. The interleaving within the code block and interleaving within the symbols, in some examples, may allow pipelined implementation of decoding of the code blocks at the receiver, for faster processing. In some cases, systematic data and parity data may be interleaved within the code block data to provide a uniform distribution of the systematic data in time within the code block.

Abstract: UE that are able to cancel interference from CRS, a PDSCH, a PDCCH, or a PCFICH may do so without explicitly signaling the capability to the serving eNB. The serving eNB may transmit to the UE a plurality of cell identifiers to indicate from which cells interference should be canceled. The UE receives CRS, PDSCH, PDCCH, or PCFICH from the serving eNB and cancels CRS, PDSCH, PDCCH, or PCFICH interference, respectively from the signal received from the eNB. The UE cancels the interference from the cells that correspond to the cell identifiers. The UE may then transmit a report to the eNB with a quality measurement without the interference.

Traditionally, HD operations may be linked to a particular frequency band which may not allow a mix of full-duplex (FD) and HD terminals in the same frequency band. Therefore, certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for enabling coexistence, in a given frequency band, of HD and FD terminals, by introducing frequency bands designated for HD operation and overlapping existing frequency bands designated for FD operation.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may communicate using a dynamic cyclic prefix (CP) length to reduce communications overhead. That is, the wireless device may use a CP length that is changeable for each data packet or listen-before-talk (LBT) frame. For example, the wireless device may initially communicate using a first CP length and then receive a dynamic CP indication for subsequent symbols in one or more data packets or LBT frames. The wireless device may then communicate using the different CP length based on the indication. In some examples, the indicated dynamic CP length may be based on a cell radius of a base station, a data direction, or the location of a user equipment (UE) in relation to the base station.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) and a base station may establish narrowband communications. The base station may configure positioning reference signal (PRS) resources based at least in part on wideband or narrowband transmissions, and a UE may receive the PRS transmissions over one or more narrowband regions. The UE, may determine PRS resources and receive portions of wideband PRS transmissions that are transmitted in one or more narrowband regions of the system bandwidth. The base station may configure PRS resources separately for narrowband devices, such as according to a bandwidth of the narrowband devices or with a single PRS tone per symbol compared to two PRS tones per symbol that may be used for wideband PRS transmissions. The base station may perform positioning measurements for a UE based at least in part on timing of uplink transmissions from the UE.

Abstract: Provided is a method for wireless communication which includes transmitting codewords according to an initial transmission rank, receiving downlink transmissions indicating at least one of the codewords to be retransmitted, constructing a demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) to be sent with the at least one codeword to be retransmitted, and retransmitting the at least one codeword with the DM-RS according to a retransmission rank. The downlink transmissions may include one or more physical hybrid automatic retransmission request indicator channels and the DM-RS may be constructed based at least in part on information in the downlink transmissions.
