Abstract:
Provided is a resource management system in a communication system including a plurality of systems having no right to use a first frequency band. The resource management system includes: a coexistence manager (CM) configured to manage the plurality of systems for the purpose of coexistence and frequency sharing of the plurality of systems in a frequency band available for the plurality of systems, when the available frequency band is detected in the first frequency band; a coexistence enabler (CE) configured to transmit and receive information of the plurality of systems and information of the CM; and a coexistence discovery and information server (CDIS) configured to support the CM to control the plurality of systems. The CM performs channel classification for the first frequency band based on channel information of the available frequency band, and allocates operating channels to the plurality of systems.
Abstract:
A scanner module and an image scanning apparatus employ an illuminator that includes at least one light emitting diode, a light guide to change the direction of the light from the light emitting diode, and a light source holder to which the light emitting diode is mounted, the light source holder being positioned in relation to the light guide such that the light source holder covers an incidence face of the light guide, on which the light from the light source is incident, the surface of light source holder facing the incidence face reflecting light incident thereupon. The reflection of light by the light source holder reduces the possibility of leakage of light, and can enhance luminous intensity of light of the illuminator.

A method of analyzing ions adsorbed on a surface of a mask for pattern formation of a semiconductor device, and an apparatus using the same are disclosed. The ion analyzing method includes: filling a heating container within a main chamber with a predetermined amount of a solvent; immersing a mask in the solvent-filled heating container; raising an internal pressure of the chamber to a predetermined level by supplying gas into the chamber; separating ions from a surface of the mask by heating the solvent within the heating container at a predetermined temperature for a predetermined period; and analyzing the ions by collecting the solvent.
Abstract:
An optical interleaver of a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) system includes an optical coupler, first and second waveguides, a high reflection mirror, and first and second phase shifters. The coupler divides an input optical signal. The first waveguide branches off from the coupler in a first direction. The second waveguide branches off from the coupler in a second direction for providing an optical path different from that provided by the first waveguide. The high reflection mirror is disposed at an end of the first waveguide for reflecting a first optical signal incident onto the first waveguide. The first phase shifter is disposed at an end of the second waveguide for multiple-reflecting a second optical signal incident onto the second waveguide. The second phase shifter is disposed at the first or second waveguide for adjusting an optical path difference between the first and second waveguides by varying its refractive index.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a robot, which performs biped walking similar to a human being, and a method of controlling safety of the robot. When the robot falls down, an air bag located in the falling direction is operated and the posture of the robot is changed into an attention posture. When the robot secondarily falls down after the falling of the robot, an air bag located in the secondary falling direction is operated to minimize damage to the elements of the robot due to the secondary falling of the robot.
Abstract:
An object detection method and apparatus is provided. When an object pixel having a target pixel value is found while an image including an object is scanned at intervals of a preset number of pixels, whether or not each pixel around the object pixel has the target pixel value is sequentially determined, while spreading to pixels around the object pixel, to find an entire pixel region constituting the object and position values of the found pixels are stored. This ensures that an entire pixel region of the object is simply, easily, quickly, and correctly found.

Abstract:
A fuel cell system includes a reformer for generating hydrogen gas from fuel containing hydrogen using a chemical catalytic reaction and thermal energy. At least one electricity generator generates electrical energy by an electrochemical reaction of the hydrogen gas and oxygen. A fuel supply assembly supplies fuel to the reformer, and an oxygen supply assembly supplies oxygen to the at least one electricity generator. A heat exchanger is connected to the reformer and to the at least one electricity generator. The heat exchanger supplies thermal energy of the reformer, during initial operation of the system, to the at least one electricity generator so as to pre-heat the at least one electricity generator.
