The system may include at least one infrared (IR) sensing element configured to detect IR signals emitted by a rail or a railcar, and a controller in communication with the at least one IR sensing element. The controller may be configured to receive the IR signals from the at least one IR sensing element, extract IR data corresponding to at least one of a rail and an undercarriage of the railcar from the IR signals, and generate a characteristic thermal profile of at least one of an ambient temperature and a rail temperature based on the IR data.
Abstract:
An apparatus for testing an ultrasound device having an ultrasound transducer and a controller includes: a housing; an absorbing layer inside the housing, wherein the absorbing layer is configured to receive ultrasound energy from the ultrasound transducer; and a thermal camera for detecting temperature at the absorbing layer. A method for testing an ultrasound device having an ultrasound transducer and a controller, includes: operating the ultrasound transducer to deliver ultrasound energy towards an absorbing layer at a testing apparatus using a thermal camera to detect temperature at the absorbing layer; obtaining thermal image data from the camera; and analyzing the thermal image data to determine whether the ultrasound device is operating desirably.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for monitoring an industrial process are disclosed. Some aspects of the system arrange multiple imaging sensors to image machinery associated with an industrial process. Regions of interest within images acquired by the multiple imaging sensors may be monitored for abnormal thermal conditions, and alerts generated as needed. Alerts may also be generated if temperatures within a region of interest exceed thresholds associated with that region of interest. Each region of interest may be independently monitored and have individualized alerting thresholds. In some aspects, images from the multiple imaging sensors may be stitched together, with the regions of interest based on the stitched image. In other aspects, regions of interest within images from separate imaging sensors may be linked together so as to share at least common alerting thresholds.
Abstract:
Dislosed is a device for up-conversion of Short Wavelength Infra-Red (SWIR) images into visible images. The device comprises a sub micrometer thickness structure that is composed of several sub-layers, each having a typical thickness of tens to hundreds of nanometers. The device is composed of two main sections one on top of the other: (a) a highly efficient SWIR absorption thin layer and (b) a highly efficient organic light emitted diode (OLED). The generated visible image is emitted from the OLED through a top transparent cathode, which is deposited on the OLED.
Abstract:
A temperature monitor system for semiconductor substrates in a front opening unified pod (FOUP) includes a temperature detector and a programmable controller. The temperature detector is in the FOUP and configured to obtain temperature data of semiconductor substrates. The programmable controller is coupled to the temperature detector and configured to control operation of the temperature detector.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and a device for the quality assurance of at least one component (14) during its production, wherein production is achieved by means of an additive manufacturing method with at least one processing laser (22), said method comprising the following steps: —layered assembly of the component (14), —thermographic recording of a plurality of images, over a defined period, of at least one component region (17) in the laser beam by means of at least one recording sensor (18), —detecting a temporal change in the heat distribution in a molten-pool-free component region, wherein the occurrence of a defect, (e.g. a crack, foreign material, a pore, a bonding fault or similar) in the uppermost component layer or beneath same is detected on the basis of a characteristic temporal change in the heat distribution at the defect (30).
Abstract:
A cw terahertz image beam is upconverted by a nonlinear optical process (e.g., sum- or difference-frequency generation with a near IR cw upconverting beam). The upconverted image is acquired by a near IR image detector. The bandwidths and center wavelengths of the terahertz image beam and the upconverting beam are such that wavelength filtering can be employed to permit an upconverted image beam to reach the detector while blocking or substantially attenuating the upconverting beam.
Abstract:
Embodiments of a system and a method for detecting voids in a cementitious board can be used in connection with the manufacture of products, including cementitious board products such as gypsum wallboard, for example. Such systems and methods can be used to generate numerical void measurements based upon a series of thermal images obtained during the continuous manufacture of the cementitious board.
Abstract:
A network for indicating and communicating detection of hostile fire, and systems, methods, and computer program products thereof. Hostile fire is optically detected and identified at a first vehicle and such identification is transmitted from the first vehicle to one or more other vehicles in the network. Data regarding hostile fire directed at the first vehicle can be stored at one or more of the other vehicles and even retransmitted to other vehicles or base stations.
