    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a multi-cell downlink control information (MC-DCI) that via a scheduling cell may schedule communications for more than one scheduled cells. The overhead of a DCI (e.g., an MC-DCI) may be reduced by compressing or removing the carrier indication field (CIF). For example, radio resource control signaling may indicate, to a UE, a DCI payload size, control channel elements (CCE)s, and/or physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidates per scheduled cell or per group of scheduled cells. If the DCI payload sizes, CCEs, and/or PDCCH candidates are different for the scheduled cells indicated in the radio resource control message, the UE may determine to which scheduled cell(s) a DCI received in a PDCCH monitoring occasion applies based on the payload size and/or CCEs of the PDCCH monitoring occasion without using a CIF.

A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of an uplink transmission configuration for the UE associated with an active carrier aggregation (CA) of at least two carriers in a plurality of carriers, wherein carrier switching among the plurality of carriers is enabled for the active carrier aggregation according to a carrier switching pattern. The UE may select, based at least in part on a pattern of uplink control channel occasions associated with the carrier switching pattern, an uplink control channel occasion on a carrier of the plurality of carriers, wherein the pattern of uplink control channel occasions defines at least one uplink control channel occasion on at least one carrier of the plurality of carriers for each uplink symbol associated with the active CA. The UE may perform an uplink control transmission on the uplink control channel occasion.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a user equipment (UE) may receive a feedback configuration for providing feedback for downlink communications from a base station. Based on the feedback configuration, the UE may determine whether one or more feedback processes has a multicast-only configuration for multicast data communications, or a multicast-or-unicast configuration for either multicast data communications or unicast data communications. The UE may decode one or more transmissions associated with the one or more feedback processes based on the multicast-only or multicast-or-unicast configuration, and may determine a feedback codebook based on the multicast-only or multicast-or-unicast configuration of the one or more feedback processes. The UE may monitor for retransmissions of one or more multicast data communications based on the feedback process configuration.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may establish a connection, with base station, over a first and second component carrier and may monitor a search space configured for scheduling multiple component carriers. In some cases, the UE may be configured to monitor a search space allocated for a virtual component carrier associated with scheduling multiple component carriers, or the UE may be configured to monitor for a subset of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidates in search spaces associated with the first and second component carriers, where the subset of PDCCH candidates may be allocated for multi-component carrier scheduling. The UE may receive downlink control information (DCI) that schedules a set of data transmissions over the first and second component carriers and the UE may perform or receive the set of data transmissions over the first and second component carrier.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive from a network entity a message indicating one or more sets of parameters for a set of carriers supported by the UE, the one or more sets of parameters indicating communication parameters for communications via the set of carriers. The UE may monitor for a field of a control message based on the message. A field size of the field may be based on the sets of parameters, and a respective value for the field may indicate a respective set of parameters of the sets of parameters for one or more carriers of the set of carriers. Based on receiving a control message and decoding the associated field, the UE may communicate via at least one carrier of the set of carriers using the respective set of parameters for the at least one carrier.
