    摘要： A card validator employs a replaceable module which houses a prearranged pattern of conductors and logic circuitry that is coupled with the inputs from a memorized code and a precoded credit card. The logic circuitry compares the memorized and credit card codes and indicates whether they are identical. If the memorized and credit card codes are not identical, the credit card is made unusable. The module is completely sealed so that tempering or visual inspection of the internal conductor pattern is impossible. Furthermore, the internal logic circuitry prevents determination of the conductor pattern through the use of electrical measuring instruments on the external connections of the module.

    摘要： An improved form of credit or identification card and a system for verifying the propriety of ownership thereof. The card comprises, in addition to the conventional embossed indicia which ordinarily includes a name and an account number, a laminated or encapsulated center layer of material upon which is deposited an electrical circuit consisting of a matrix of electrical conductors and semiconductors coupled to a plurality of contact points. At least three of the contact points are coupled to certain ones of the semiconductor devices thereby providing a code number unique to each card and the remaining contacts are coupled to other parts of the circuit to give a false code. A card verifier has a like plurality of electrical contacts adapted to engage the card contacts and a plurality of selectors for selectively coupling the circuit in the card with a circuit in the verifier so as to produce a YES or NO output signal to verify selection of the proper code number.

    摘要： A control circuit for a motor which drives a card carrying a magnetic recording of an audio presentation. The card additionally carries a speed control signal in the form of a continuous, conductive, control stripe. The presence of the control stripe is sensed by a pair of conductive feelers switching on a transistor which controls the operative speed of the card drive motor. The circuit additionally includes a resistor-capacitor timing circuit which prevents turn-off of the switching transistor in the event of intermittent interruption in the conductive path between the sensors to prevent momentary, undesired changes in the motor speed.

    摘要： The disclosure relates to a card reader head assembly which comprises stationary and movable contact members between which is provided a card receiving area in which a data card or cards are to be disposed. The movable contact members are provided with contact fingers disposed in an insulating block with the contact members forming plate means having leg members extending outwardly at an acute angle with respect to the plate means and contact feet at the free ends of the leg members. The contact feet are disposed in alinement with respective contact elements on the stationary contact means. A holding device is provided which includes a plurality of fingers positioned on the movable contact means adjacent the contact members and sloping in a direction opposite to the contact members. Operating means is connected to the movable contact means to move same toward the stationary contact means with the edges of the contact feet wipingly engaging respective contact elements of the stationary contact means and the contact feet and leg members being movable in the same containing plate means.
