Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some networks, a user equipment (UE) may switch between serving beams of a transmitting device that are associated with different bandwidth parts of a radio frequency spectrum. To improve aspects of beam measurement and selection, a UE may be configured to support various techniques for beam measurement according to the different bandwidth parts. For example, a UE may receive a beam measurement configuration associated with one or more beams, and may monitor for reference signals associated with the beams using the different bandwidth parts. The UE may determine a channel quality of one or more of the beams based on the monitoring, and transmit a beam measurement report to the network in accordance with the beam measurement configuration. In some examples, such a report may be transmitted based on the UE determining that an event condition is satisfied.

Abstract: A user equipment may be configured to implement a procedure for implementing a procedure for updating cell-specific parameters used by a UE in non-terrestrial networks (NTN). In some aspects, the UE may receive, from a network entity, during a modification period of system information, system information including one or more cell-specific parameters. Further, the UE may enter a radio resource configuration (RRC) connected mode based upon receipt of the system information, and transmit an acquisition indication of receipt of the system information, the acquisition indication identifying an instance within the modification period of receipt of the system information.

The target cell is a serving or non-serving cell. The UE determines a cell type of the target cell. The cell type may be a LEO cell type, a geostationary Earth orbit (GEO) cell type, a moving cell type, a fixed cell type, a temporarily fixed LEO cell type, or a permanently fixed LEO cell type. The UE completes selection or reselection of the target cell or completes the connectivity with the target cell, based on the cell type.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for communicating a satellite behavior change. In one aspect, a satellite identifies a satellite behavior change to occur for the satellite of a non-terrestrial network for cellular communications. The apparatus also signals the satellite behavior change to a user equipment serviced by the satellite. In another aspect, a user equipment obtains, from a satellite servicing the user equipment, a signaling of a satellite behavior change to occur for the satellite. The user equipment also adjusts one or more user equipment parameters for cellular communication based on the obtained signaling. The satellite behavior change may include a satellite attitude or a transmit power or coverage area of one or more satellite beams. The user equipment parameters may include satellite or beam selection or reselection to listen to paging information, satellite or beam handover parameters, or transmit power control parameters.

Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently performing dynamic power control with minimal complexity in a dual connectivity mode. In particular, a user equipment (UE) may determine the reserved power (or maximum available power) for uplink transmissions on one or more cells in one cell group to a base station based on the total power available to the UE and the minimum reserved power for uplink transmissions on one or more cells in another cell group. Once the UE determines the reserved power for conflicting uplink transmissions on one or more cells in a cell group, the UE may allocate the reserved power to each uplink transmission on the one or more cells in the cell group (e.g., based on a priority of each of the uplink transmissions).

Abstract: A resynchronization signal (RSS) may extend across multiple physical resource blocks (PRBs) or subframes, which may cause the RRS to be scheduled to overlap with other downlink transmissions. Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for management of RSS and one or more other transmission types that may have overlapping wireless resources with the RSS. If one or more other downlink transmissions are scheduled for resources that overlap with resources scheduled for an RSS transmission, the UE may receive the RSS transmission or the one or more other downlink transmissions, or a combination thereof, based on a prioritization of the transmission types of the one or more other downlink transmissions relative to RSS. The RSS transmission or the one or more other transmissions may be delayed, dropped, punctured, or rate-matched when the RSS transmission and the one or more other downlink transmissions conflict.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling identifying a configuration of a set of uplink slots for the UE to transmit uplink reference signals to a satellite. The UE may transmit, to the satellite, a set of uplink reference signals on the set of uplink slots according to the configuration. The set of uplink reference signals may include sounding reference signals (SRSs), positioning references signals (PRSs), or both. In some implementations, the UE may transmit the set of uplink reference signals in accordance with one or more timing advance values, where the timing advance values are indicated to the satellite by the UE, pre-configured by the satellite, or both. The UE may then, from a network node, an indication of a position of the UE based on the set of uplink reference signals.
