Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to dynamic channel bonding and multi-band aggregation. A device may determine a plurality of aggregated medium access control (MAC) protocol data unit (A-MPDU) subframes to send to a station device including a first A-MPDU subframe and a second A-MPDU subframe. The device may determine a quiet period between the first A-MPDU subframe and the second A-MPDU subframe. The device may cause to send the plurality of A-MPDU subframes to the station device on a first channel. The device may determine a status of a second channel during the quiet period. The device may cause to send the second A-MPDU subframe to the station device using a multi-band transmission on the first channel and the second channel.

Link aggregation can also be applicable to multiple air interfaces in the same band (for instance 2 independent IEEE 802.11ac/ax air interfaces at 5 GHz on 2 different 80 MHz channels). One exemplary aspect provides technology that enables significantly higher throughput and/or higher reliability for two stations (STAs) or a STA and the access point (AP) when the devices support simultaneous multi-band operation.

Abstract: Embodiments of an access point (AP), station (STA) and method for channel access are generally described herein. The AP may contend for access to a channel. The contention may be performed in accordance with an omni-directional enhanced distributed channel access function (EDCAF) for transmission within an omni-directional pattern. The contention may be further performed in accordance with a directional EDCAF for transmission to a station (STA) in a directional pattern. The AP may determine whether to transmit within the omni-directional pattern based at least partly on an omni-directional backoff parameter. The AP may further determine whether to transmit in the directional pattern based at least partly on a directional backoff parameter.

Abstract: When performing a contention protocol, such as Listen-Before-Talk (LBT), an Long Term Evolution (LTE)-Licensed Assisted Access (LAA) node dynamically adapts the ED threshold used by the LTE-LAA node depending on whether other transmission nodes are detected at the frequency components that are to be used by the LTE-LAA node. In one implementation, the ED threshold value may initially be set to a conservative value, and when other transmissions nodes are not detected, the ED threshold value may be set to a more aggressive value. In another implementation, the ED threshold value may initially be set to a more aggressive value, and only when another transmission node is detected, the ED threshold value may be set to a more conservative value. In yet another possible implementation, the ED threshold value and the transmit power may be proportionally modified, for a particular UE, based on a parameter associated with the UE.

Abstract: Embodiments of a station (STA), access point (AP) and method for determination of transmit power for spatial reuse are generally described herein. The STA may detect, in the channel, an overlapping basic service set (OBSS) physical layer convergence procedure protocol data unit (PPDU) from an OBSS AP. The STA may determine, based at least partly on an ESS color parameter included in the OBSS PPDU, whether the OBSS AP is included in the ESS network. The STA may determine an OBSS power threshold based at least partly on whether the OBSS AP is included in the ESS network. The STA may determine, based at least partly on a comparison between the OBSS power threshold and a received power of the OBSS PPDU, whether to transmit an uplink PPDU to the BSS AP in the channel during the TXOP.
