Abstract:
In one example, a device for coding video data includes a video coder configured to code an intra random access point (IRAP) picture of a partially aligned IRAP access unit of video data, and code data that indicates, when performing random access from the partially aligned IRAP access unit, at least one picture of a video coding layer that is not correctly decodable. When the video coder comprises a video decoder, the video decoder may skip decoding of the pictures that are not correctly decodable, assuming random access has been performed starting from the partially aligned IRAP access unit.
Abstract:
In an example, a method of coding video data includes determining a location of a reference sample associated with a reference picture of video data based on one or more scaled offset values, where the reference picture is included in a first layer of a multi-layer bitstream and the one or more scaled offset values indicate a difference in scale between the first layer and a second, different layer. The method also includes determining a location of a collocated reference block of video data in the first layer based on the location of the reference sample, and coding a current block of video data in the second layer relative to the collocated reference block.
Abstract:
Techniques and systems are provided for encoding video data. For example, restrictions on certain prediction modes can be applied for video coding. A restriction can be imposed that prevents inter-prediction bi-prediction from being performed on video data when certain conditions are met. For example, bi-prediction restriction can be based on whether intra-block copy prediction is enabled for one or more coding units or blocks of the video data, whether a value of a syntax element indicates that one or more motion vectors are in non-integer accuracy, whether both motion vectors of a bi-prediction block are in non-integer accuracy, whether the motion vectors of a bi-prediction block are not identical and/or are not from the same reference index, or any combination thereof. If one or more of these conditions are met, the restriction on bi-prediction can be applied, preventing bi-prediction from being performed on certain coding units or blocks.
Abstract:
An example method of encoding video data includes determining a resolution that will be used for a motion vector that identifies a predictor block in a current picture of video data for a current block in the current picture of video data; determining, based on the determined resolution, a search region for the current block such that a size of the search region is smaller where the resolution is fractional-pixel than where the resolution is integer-pixel; selecting, from within the search region, a predictor block for the current block; determining the motion vector that identifies the selected predictor block for the current block; and encoding, in a coded video bitstream, a representation of the motion vector.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for video image coding are provided. Sets of filters may be selected and applied to video information at least partially based on the type of inter layer prediction implemented in coding the video information. Different filters, or filter sets, may be used for inter layer intra prediction, difference domain intra prediction, and/or difference domain inter prediction. Filter selection information may be embedded in the video bit stream.
Abstract:
According to techniques of this disclosure, a video decoder can be configured to, for one or more blocks coded with wavefront parallel processing enabled, determine a coding tree block (CTB) delay, wherein the CTB delay identifies a delay between when a first row of CTBs starts being decoded and when a second row of CTBs below the first row of CTBs starts being decoded; for a current block of video data coded in an intra-block copy (IBC) mode and coded with wavefront parallel processing disabled, determine an IBC prediction region for the current block within a picture that includes the current block based on the CTB delay that was determined for the one or more blocks coded with wavefront parallel processing enabled; identify, from within the determined IBC prediction region for the current block, a predictive block for the current block; and IBC decode the current block based on the predictive block.
Abstract:
Techniques are described for determining boundary strength value for an intra-block copy (IBC)-coded block and for selective storage of unfiltered pixel values of a region of a picture based on whether the region will be used as reference for IBC coding.
Abstract:
This disclosure describes techniques for coding video data according to an intra Block Copy (BC) coding mode. A block vector difference that identifies a prediction block may be represented by a plurality of syntax elements, which may be encoded and decoded. This disclosure proposes various techniques whereby a video encoder may conditionally signal syntax elements representing the absolute value and/or sign of the components of the block vector difference. Likewise, a video decoder may be configured to infer the values of the syntax elements representing the absolute value and/or sign of the components of the block vector difference when such syntax elements are not signaled.
Abstract:
In an example, a method of coding video data includes determining, for a pixel associated with a palette index that relates a value of the pixel to a color value in a palette of colors used for coding the pixel, a run length of a run of palette indices being coded with the palette index of the pixel, the method also includes determining a maximum run length for a maximum run of palette indices able to be coded with the palette index of the pixel, and coding data that indicates the run length based on the determined maximum run length.
Abstract:
In an example, a method of processing video data includes coding at least one of data that indicates a maximum palette size of a palette of color values for coding a block of video data or data that indicates a maximum palette predictor size of a palette predictor for determining the palette of color values. The method also includes coding the block of video data in accordance with the data.
