    Abstract: A method of default Quasi-Co-Location (QCL) assumption for Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) reception in NR network is proposed. When PDSCH is scheduled by a DCI over PDCCH after a Scheduling Offset, the spatial RX filter for the PDSCH reception can be determined according to a QCL indication conveyed by the DCI. When the Scheduling Offset for PDSCH reception scheduled by DCI is less than a time duration, then a default QCL assumption is applied. UE assumes that the DMRS ports of PDSCH of a serving cell are QCLed with the RS(s) with respect to QCL parameter(s) used for PDCCH QCL indication of a CORESET. The CORESET is associated with a UE-monitored search space in the latest slot with the lowest CORESET-IF on an active BWP on the serving cell.

    Abstract: A new design for physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) is proposed for the next generation 5G new radio systems. A UE receives the configuration of a default control resource set (CORESET) in MIB/SIB from its serving base station. The default CORESET contains both common search space and UE-specific search space for candidate PDCCH transmission. A PDCCH in a default CORESET is mapped to physical resource in a distributed or localized manner. Specifically, various REG-to-CCE mapping rules are proposed to improve frequency diversity gain, or frequency selectivity gain, or to reduce latency of PDCCH processing. Further, to facilitate analog beamforming in mmWave systems, the default CORESET is transmitted in a synchronization signal (SS) block associated with a corresponding analog beam direction.

The UE determines an adjustment to a base DMRS sequence for generating the particular DMRS sequence. The UE generates the particular DMRS sequence based on the adjustment and the base DMRS sequence. The UE modulates the particular DMRS sequence to obtain a set of symbols. The UE maps a plurality of symbols of the set of symbols to a plurality of subcarriers. The UE transmits the plurality of symbols on the plurality of subcarriers.
